clio steering wheel and airbag

  1. so this really does just plug and play? i notice the clio wheel has a copper band running around it but the old megane one doesn't, also there is an earth plug on the megane wheel but not on the clio one?

  2. Just cut them off mate, be reet

  3. I might end up doing just that Steve, the airbag in the car came off easy, the one on the loose wheel was a right sod to remove, sorted now tho

  4. All done, now the airbag light stays on:mad: do i just need to get that reset with clip? if so, anyone near Brands Hatch with clip? beer tokens waiting

  5. It won't reset if you've cut the earth wire surely

The earth on the clio wheel is on the airbag.

It genuinely is plug and play! The only minor difference is some wheel have a spade connector for the airbag and others don't put it's as simply as crimping a spade connector.

If you've got the warning light you've done it wrong.

  8. Sorry to hijack your thread but why do people put the Clio wheel on instead what's the actual difference?

  9. i didn't push the airbag plug in far enough, tit. all sorted now.

Matt, the clio wheel is slightly smaller and thicker, to me, its much nicer to grip than the R26 wheel.

  10. It's all about the girth!

Because you realise afterwards that the standard wheel is utter tripe compared to the clio wheel, the mk3 meg wheels are even worse!

If you want to stay with a standard wheel it's by far the best option.

  12. now i've tried the extra girth, there is no going back

  13. If you do get a Clio wheel, make sure it's not a Cup wheel as they don't have the cruise control button, are much thinner and don't have the red or white band at the top.

  14. I've got a mk3 megane wheel and it's loads better than the mk2.
I prefer it to the clio wheel which is why I went for it.
