Hello just a quick question. At what mileage did you get your engine mapped. What is a safe upper limit ?. Thanks
I bought my car at 30500miles. Its now just about 60500. Each and every mile covered has been mapped.
Rather than making a new thread; besides KTR; are there any other reputable mappers around the south coast?
Any decent mapper can map them as long as they know what they're doing. Doesn't need to be anyone who specializes in Renault. Just do a bit of research on the company's you have local to you
But how? There's a guy local to me who does a LOT of remapping but how can be assured he knows what's going on and isn't going to start melting things And living on an island; the "company's" local to me, are limited to say the least. Never heard of RS tuning - google shows them in Leeds? http://www.rstuning.co.uk/
Surely if he does a lot of mapping you can find out from other people if he knows what he's doing? He will be well known if a lot of people use him.
I guess? I've never had a car mapped nor do i know what makes a decent 'mapper(?)' ; a fair novice to this. I've come from a mechanical diesel background !
Someone who knows how to get the air/fuel ratios and the timing right so not to cause knock and engine damage. Always best to go to someone who does it on a set of rollers too. It's not rocket science for someone that does it all the time.
