I decided to fit a custom fmic on the 250 as much for cosmetics as performance mostly I opted for custom due to the little gains unless mostly track use I'd get from a £500 direct fit item and the good results I've had with welly coolers before. So I Purchased an Internet special 550x140x65 with 2.5 outlets (I've used one of these on a golf gti over 300bhp and it performed well over the stock item). front end removed (while up in the air I did a quick oil n filter) ome cooler removed the ic pipe hiding behind the air con rad has a metal collar so with slight adj to the aircon pipe a 2.5 90deg silicone pipe will fit over and clamp to exitisting hard pipe on that side. like this above the other side is a flex pipe with a small metal rim inside for the ome fit once this is removed you can fit a 75deg bit of hard pipe 2.75 reducing to a 2.5 connected to a 2.5 90deg silicone to the cooler. Also in this pic you can see I have drilled and fixed cooler to the far rear of the crash bar (fit is spot on in bumper). all fitted bar bumper, I did not like the blue piping (it was what I had available on the day) so before refitting bumper I shaded the end tanks of the cooler and blacked the pipes for a more stealth look. the end result as above.
Will dyno this on same rollers n setup as previous cooler hopefully similar air temp so can compare them.
Wasn't worth posting this really seems people are only interested if it cost £500 from forge ect.. if anyone is interested in diy rather than main stream here goes Well it was down 6hp on test but used a different dyno and others on the day were about the same so inconclusive results on did it for charity event so will wait till I can get a more accurate result to see if the cooler is better or not?
