R26 Need some help or advice on a real bad noise n burnt brake pad smell

Hi all, came back from our welsh blat yesterday with what started as a slight whine when stopping, soon as gear was engaged and moving I was gone, went into work today and no problem, but got into it when work was over and was fine for about a mile then when I slowed to traffic lights the whine was real loud and a real horrible burning smile, the smell reminds me of cooked brake pads, and out from the bonnet grills was a faint smoke , pulled over sharpish but smoke was gone , but the smell was real bad.
now does the clutch friction pads smell like that ??? changes gear fine, I checked the front wheels for binding breaks and all good ,after about 10mins got into car and slow drive home, no noise cos car is moving and no smell, my camera managed to get a few mins of the noise and I will post it up later, but when car stops so does camera (, not a clue what this is, the noise sounds like a water pump binding but that would not stink like burnt brake pads would it ???... any help on this mucho appreciated....

Again only when slow or stopped, all gone when over 20mph

I take it that's complete new clutch then knowing my luck??

 

Thanks for all the feedback guys, thanks to caymans contact , it turns out to be the aircon compressor, never thought that could smoke and stink like that, now I have a dilemma, do I replace the suppressor, bloody £600 all fitted or do you get a deletion kit to bin it off, to be honest I don't use aircon that much, im a biker and prefer the windows wide open lol, I don't think I will ever sell it so no worries about peeps asking where the aircon is, does anyone know where I can get these aircon deletion kits from ????

 

I like that idea steve just worried I am buying there worn out unit lol, I think I am either going all in or delete the mother , but it does give me another option, thanks steve

 

hey steve off subject but it is my post, I had a go in greyinfasts R26.r Saturday, to be honest I thought whats all the fuss, friggin hell mate, they are fucking amazing cars, blew my mind lol

 

in ignorance I thought they were similar and not far apart, having a laugh, his was a total different driving experience, totally different braking , jeez Christ it cud pull up, different steering motion to mine, after I thought mines going back to garage to check my steering out lol, hugely impressed.

mmmmmmm I see, no not stolen and yes mint, with no scratches or abrasion marks :rolleyes:, just need a brush up where my fat welsh arse has been lol
