I'm in need of a new trolley jack as my current one finally died. My main requirement is that it can get under a standard height R26 without needing to either drive onto blocks of wood or use the scissor jack first. Budget of up to £100 but lower if possible.
http://www.sgs-engineering.com/hydraulic-jacks/trolley-jacks/tja15-aluminium-trolley-jack I have this one, comes to about £83 incl. VAT. Also good if you ever lower your car as it is very low entry!
I recently purchased one of these. Excellent bit of kit. https://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/...e-aluminium-racing-j?da=1&TC=SRC-trolley jack
http://www.sgs-engineering.com/hydr...jsrx2-aluminium-trolley-jack-with-axle-stands £129 including 4 stands. that's not a bad price really...might have to get one. Is there a 'best way' to get the car up on 4 stands? I've done it before by jacking each corner and placing the stands one by one but it's doesn't feel the most secure way of doing it. Any tips?
I bought that kit SGS sell for £129 with the 4 axle stands at Xmas, really good jack couldn't recommend one enough. Regarding jacking, one way I found easier with a lowered car, I bought some small drive on ramps from laser. About £40. They're only around 4 inches high maybe, but it gives you the extra room to jack from a different point under the car and then place the stands on the normal jacking point. Back is easy then
