250 AST 5100 series vs KW Clubsport

  1. Looking at getting some coilovers for the meg, not just yet more towards the end of the year/beginning of next year.

I'll be doing around 7+ track days a year with trips to the Nurburgring/Spa but the car is also my daily. Work is less than a mile, gym is less than a mile and the missus is around a mile and I don't have any friends, so I'll only be doing around 11k miles a year.

AST's are around £1,800 with custom springs and top mounts.

I've seen the Clubsports for around £1,700 on Larkspeed.

Eventually the megane will be a weekend/track toy but that's a few years yet.

    Thanks, Jake

Order the AST's now and you might get them at the end of the year

  3. What this year lol, good luck

  4. Ast's........ Great product useless customer service!

What spring rates are available on the club sports and is it inboard spring setup on rear?

  5. Inboard by the looks, they just come in one spring rate afaik too. I seem to recall the KW are twin tube though too whereas AST stuff is all monotube?

Some nice info on that note here: https://www.tein.co.jp/e/special/ni_toryu/

  6. I'm sure kw could provide different springs?

  7. Possibly, they were not very helpful when I spoke to them a while back tbh. Wouldn't even discuss the rates of springs.

Even found the response I got:

    "Hi,
unfortunately, KW don't release technical specifications regarding the Club Sport kits, sorry."

  8. Yeah I could imagine them keeping stuff very close to there chest possibly.

They'd be nothing stopping you getting springs from the like of eibach as there no doubt of standard size but I guess it's just if the dampers can handle it
