250 Headlight bulbs

  1. I know this has been covered before, but after doing a search I'm still unsure on the best headlight bulbs for my 250

I changed interior and number plate bulbs for LEDS last year, but I've still not done the headlight bulbs, been meaning to do it ever since I first got my 250....

It seems Osram Night Breakers and Phillips White Vision get mentioned most, or any other brands I should be looking at? Looking to lose the yellowish tinge of the standard bulbs, guess I'll need sets for dipped and main beam.

if anyone has any links as well, that would be appreciated, so many different types, want to make sure I order the right ones!

    Cheers

  2. There is a new Phillips one out which is the best now.
I get all my info from Auto Express try there site and a search.

Yes they will always get a more yellow tinge than HID's but that is the nature of the bulb. If you put so much blue tint on them to correct it you lose more light.

  3. I've got the phillips ones Andy mentioned that get the good reviews, still not amazing but they do. Provide a nice bright white light that looks natural and crisp but also pretty OEM, none of this yellow/blue tinge you get with some of them.

They also seem to be lasting an age.

  4. Cheers guys, looked up those new Phillips bulbs, X-treme Vision + 130% H7, seem to get very good reviews. I've ordered some from Powerbulbs, 20% off and a set of free side light bulbs.

I'll try and get some before and after pics when they arrive.

  5. I noticed that my passenger bulb has gone today. Umming and ahhhing whether to just replace the single bulb or order a pair of upgraded bulbs.

How were those Phillips you bought?

  6. I ended up with Osram night breaker 120% as they were on offer in amazon £20 for two sets [4 bulbs]
They are good enough. Never going to be HIDS tho.
    Cheers Andy

  7. First impressions are good, as mentioned by others, never going to match HID's, but they look so much better than the standard very yellow looking bulbs. There is also an improvement when driving at night, not massive but noticeable.

I had to buy side light bulbs to match as well as the standard ones looked terrible with the new bulbs in, very yellow.

I'll post some pics etc. later when i get a minute.

  8. Ordered a set of the Philips extreme 130% jobbies. £18.99 for a pair delivered from euro car parts. Cheapest I could find.
