Soon to be 275 trophy owner

  1. Hi everyone.

So I’ve owned an albi blue 197 now for 4 years and some odd months. I’ve wanted a megane 250 up for the last 2 years.

Wednesday, driving home from work, my windscreen wipers pack in. I’m passing a local Renault garage to my work so stop there to wait out the rain and get a price on a motor and linkage.

Lo and behold there’s a 275 liquid yellow trophy sitting for sale, crammed with I think all the options going. Instant love. Que a test drive and a long chat then a night spent working out if I can afford it.

Next day I’m back and its mine. Clio is going in as part ex for it, get to pick it up on the 8th May (my choice not theirs, bloody work shift pattern) so excited

My old 197/still current for a week

    Nmp

    Love the colour

  4. Thanks. My first ever LY, the newest car I’ve ever owned too. I’m going to be so worried leaving this anywhere lol

  5. Nice one!
I always remember the first brand new car I owned years ago ,I picked it up from the Renault garage in Sloan Sq Chelsea and had to drive it back to Maidstone through rush hour....man alive!!

  6. What a beaut, this is the press car wasn't it I've seen it in a few videos

  7. Looks like it, if it's anything like mine it'll go like a scolded cat!

  8. Congrats! Here is a great video featuring this exact car:

  9. Nice and welcome

  10. At least you know it'll have been run in well! :tongueout: The blur on the photo makes the colour look better somehow!

You'll love the car, enjoy mate

  11. It did. The guy on the test drive let me run it up the m23 and onto the m25 then around the backroads I know back to the dealership. It came back filthy :tongueout:

thanks for the link to the video. Nice to see her life before me. Doesnt put me off. It’ll have been looked after. Last thing Renault want is that breaking on them with the press using it. Plus I still have 3 years 2 months warrenty left on it anyway.

  12. with press cars its a touchy subject.

Watching that vid and if that was my car id feel like I've just stumbled across my new girlfriends porno with her ex, who shagged her rotten with a bigger cock than me.

Something you never want to see but always will be in the back of your mind.

on a serious note.. you've got to ask for new fucking tyers and brakes all round.

  13. Yeah. The brakes appeared fine but the tyres they’d stuck the front on the back and vice versa and you could tell. I’d already flagged that one.

As I said it doesn’t bother me too much at least I know its history.

Hk14dkg looks to have had it harder then muw from the videos lol

  14. That's pretty much what I was going to say, but not quite in the same manner lol

I'm sure you'll love it mate. Mines just come back from 1100 miles, 3 day trip to Skye and it was properly awesome.

  15. Looking good bud

Welcome and congrats that's the Renault Croydon car isn't it,thought it had gone.

  17. That's exactly why I brought up the tyres and brakes when I went to sort out my refund for a repair I had on the Clio (I got that done for free because of the megane)
It being ex press isn't a big deal to me. It's got loads of warranty left and as I said the Clio was ex fleet and that's now 8 years old and 110k and only in the last year has it started to need a lot of work.

Yeah as liquid you are correct. It's renault Croydon.
thinks it's been up for sale a bit but that's because it was originally up for silly money (trophy-R money)

and the belts match my hair. You do get some double takes when they realise its a woman driving it lol. Love this car though. So over the moon with the purchase.

  19. Looks brilliant. I had to walk away from the exact same spec a month ago. :-( couldn't justify it but I'm properly jealous.

    Enjoy!

  20. Colour looks lovely! Enjoy

  21. Very nice, enjoy!

  22. Chris it was close for me too. Probably earlier then I'd planned to be in one (was planning for end of year) but when the right car comes along it's hard to walk away. The only option this is missing for me is the pano roof but as my 197 entered its last year with me I was having issues with getting the roof to shut after I'd opened it so it was an option I could take or leave.

    Thanks everyone

  23. That is stunning I want some more pictures of it please!
