Toying with the idea of selling my 250 Cup as looking at M3/C63's.. Not sure whether to go down part ex route, or look to get more money by selling privately. Dealers offer sweet F all for these Megs so it's a bit of a nightmare. What kind of prices are people seeing privately, or what would you expect to pay on mine for example? 60k miles, 60 reg, cloth recaro, xenons, cloth Recaros, 18" cup alloys. Remapped by K-Tec, with their exhaust and panel filter. (315bhp, 368lb/ft) I was thinking of around £10.5k.. is that too enthusiastic?
Price seems spot on to me I have a very similar spec (19s non recaro) but 20k less miles and I'd want at least 11k for mine. always better to sell private unless to can afford to take the loss or can't wait to sell
WBAC offered 11k for mine back in December (FF+Cup including RS Monitor and Recaros), 33k miles. You might do better to put the standard exhaust back on and sell as standard. As usual, tuned cars tend to be a bit less desirable.
we buy your car is all b####x they never pay the quoted price. remember you can't over price yourself if you want to sell, the key factor is the mileage on this one 60k as there's a few around the 35-40k for 11k
I sold my 10 plate Rs250 cup with Recaros, RS monitor, xenons with 44k miles back in November for £10,700.
I sold my 61 plate 250 cup to Ktec back in november, full history plus 2 extra years full renault warranty with 26000miles for 11500, easy to deal with, come lookd at the car and had money in my account in mins.
Sold two cars with we buy any car, and they gave me full price if your car is in excellent condition they will give you quoted price
£10.5k sounds about right, If you are going to sell up i would do it sooner rather than later before prices drop even more. It is one of the reasons i have decided to just keep mine for the foreseeable future, I would be lucky to get 9.5k for mine and WBAC offer me just over 8 grand, LOL.
I've found it difficult to justify the cost of buying anything else over what the Meg offers tbh Even if I have to start replacing clutches and suspension arms and gearboxes it'd still be cheaper than buying the things that'd interest me. Prices seem to have held at a similar level for a while though, I think they've hit the slow pitch on the depreciation curve at the current price point.
My two owner 48k 60 plate 250 ff. rs monitor. Visibility pack. Recaros with an ac compressor fault went for 9k part ex
I was set on an M3 this year but after spending more time with one on track and the road, As great as they are, They just don't offer the performance that my Meg gives me. Particularly on track. Would have to spend a good amount on it to get it to where i would be happy. So instead i am going to spend that money on the Megane, Hence the Hybrid and Cage later this year.
Yeah I am concerned about the chance of it dropping further still. WBAC offer me £8200 so I'm in the same boat as you. If I do decide to sell, it'll be at about the 10.5k mark judging by peoples thoughts
Out of interest, WBAC have just quoted me £8,790 for my 250. Stock cup. Jun 2010. I've owned since new. 38k miles. FSH. I was keeping it anyway.
Just seen it's up for sale @JockySteer. What's next? I'm planning on an E92 M3, a while yet as I should really get a house first lol
Not sure yet.. I'm set on a V8. Like the look of the SLK55 AMG's. Have test driven an E92 and it blew me away. I want a good example though with reasonable mileage.
Old man had an E92 M3, I absolutely loved it. The noise on downshifts will be enough for me lol! I'm planning on getting one when I'm 25/26 when I get a house, another 4-5 years yet. I'm hoping I'll find a low milage one. Good luck with whichever you go for, I'm sure they'll both give you excitement lol
9.3k. Needed alloys refurbing so I was satisfied with that and needed the quick sale. Much better than trade in any way IMO. Dealers were offering sweet F all
For circa £10k the Megane 250 is a bargain in my opinion. Thats why I Bought one ! E92 M3 is a lot of car for the money but I would make sure you have a decent warranty pref BMW looking at £1k a year. The car is known to have a small number of faults...the most expensive one is Throttle Acuator both banks (google it), they tend to go at 40k miles so have a look at the history to see if they have been changed. Bar that and a couple of little faults like DCT lag (fixed with software update) and fuel pumps going its failry bullet proof. You need to do the exahust mod to release the proper sound of the V8, the standard exhaust is a little timid. Dont expect to see more than 20mpg local and 23-24 on a run.
I put myself off the E92 and am picking up an SLK 55 AMG today.. mainly for that V8 noise and manageable power for me Comes with a 3 month warranty, but I'll get a further 12 months added on with a £5000 claim limit for £650 for the year so that will give me the peace of mind I need. Not worried about MPG due to such a short commute. If I was concerned about MPG, then I'd not be looking at these
