Hello all, Based on my experience with the lower arms I'm trying to produce, I got an idea. I would love to head what parts everyone would like to have for they're cars and maybe, if we realise we are more people looking for the same part, we find a way to produce and improve our community. Let's called this community driven parts development Please don't say "I want a pair of Nitron's to cost 100£" or "Free Recaro's". I'm talking about parts they are not available (but maybe you've seen them for other cars) or something that really bothers you. For example, I believe a better subframe or at least a better way to fix the subframe to the chassis is a nice part. What other thoughts are there? Let them flow!!! S.
Is something to keep in mind. First thing to do, is try to source a ARB from R26 or RS175dCi. I have a rear ARB on my car, but I started to think is a little too soft for this car. Is something I'm also looking into for myself. Is there anyone else considering the need for a bigger ARB for this car? S.
R26 has an ARB as standard, you could possibly put a thicker one on but it would maybe be a pointless exercise, cost wise.
This could be good. I would love a tubular manifold which fits the OEM turbo An 'off the shelf' alloy fuel rail, with return.
What are you going to do with the return itself? To make a fuel rail is not hard at all, but to take the return fuel back to the tank is harder. From my experience, you cannot use rubber or teflon hoses on a street car because they will always smell like fuel, especially if you leave the car in the sun. Metal or cooper pipe is the way to go, but this makes things soo hard. Question is: are people interested in going for a full fuel system with pipes underneath the car and all bells and whistles? S.
"Better" exhaust mounts are a must for me. Silly cheap design from Renault currently. Is there a better option ?
So, up to now MJ57 seems to have a solution for return fuel system. Open ideas are: - tubular exhaust manifold for stock turbo - better exhaust mounts S.
I thought I read somewhere that the manifold is really bad and restricts the turbo, as the same turbos on Volvo setups make much more power?? May be wrong though haven't really looked into it....
I'd take a full set of these for sure if developed, the amount I constantly see being replaced on all renault models at my local garage is laughable as well, could be a part that you may be able to do a fairly decent volume on as well..... Great idea Bulardas - great to have minds like yours on these type of things - big thanks
Brilliant thread this... Dare I say what about adjustable top mounts for the front suspension ? A user on clio197.net makes these for the standard suspension and also all the popular coilovers kits. Obviously a there's differences there but they're really popular. An air-con delete kit too, I know others have this but to buy everything from the one source as a kit is better than hoping you have all the right parts to hand when going ahead with it.
No need for an aircon delete kit. Just rotate the original tensioner a few degrees and fit a shorter belt.
Air-con delete: Or look into 1.5dCi parts. Some of them fit your engine as well. Shock mounts: Can you show a link with the 197 version or send me a PM if you are not allowed to post here a link. S
There are already adjustable topmounts for the Mk2 on OEM suspension. Silver Project make them, Cracking bits of kit and cheap. I know several people who use them on track cars that get used a lot and they haven't failed
a brake pedal box which delete the brake servo and takes two master cylinders with brake bias adjustability. I have been searching for this since the second week i got my .R but unfortunately there isn't one. my local mechanic said there isn't a market for him to develop one unless I am willing to pay him very very silly money for making one.
You can delete ABS (you will loose ESP as well) and use the original pump with a proportional valve to change the bias. Keep in mind that in your car, your pedal in on right side of the vehicle and the brake master in on the left side. This only shifts the pedal box project closer to impossible. S.
So, after 3 pages, all the ideas run out. On the other hand, we have a 22 pages thread about windscreen water jets... What is the final purpose of your car? S.
It's a pretty sorted car as standard and a lot of off the shelf parts are available if you have deep pockets.
