Hi, So I seem to have a peculiar little issue going on with my keyless entry. 1st noticed when I walked up and pulled the door handle and it didn't unlock. Hit the unlock button on the key and got in fine. Put the key in the slot just to reset, hit stop, got out & walked a couple of meters away, locked itself, all fine, so I thought. When I went back same thing happened. Went around to try passenger side and it unlocked keyless, then didn't seem to unlock or lock keyless when round drivers side ..... no problem I thought...must be a battery. New battery for key bought and installed and all seemed fine for about a week and now its doing it again? Anyone got any ideas? thought at first I was stuck in some wired combination of dead locking Vs unlock vi key so that keyless wouldn't work but then why does it seem fine on the passengers side. Anyone know if the keyless entry has multiple sensors and one may have failed? Cheers Paul
my gf's dad's 265 just had the door sensor/lock mechanism fail funnily enough and it was just on the driver's side. got it all replaced under warranty by the dealer
Hmm interesting, just been to dealer and they believe it appears to be the Drivers door sensor/aerial. Booked into have the part replaced in a couple of weeks, warranty naturally.
Mine hasn't failed but the other night at 3am I heard a noise to find a scum bag sat in the car rummaging through the glovebox!!!! Pretty scary and not a nice sight seeing your mrs panicking looking out the window! Gave chase to the f*cker but he was faster than Mr.Bolt! I 100% had left it open as I remember not locking it when me and the Mrs came in from asda!
It should lock itself when you walk away from it, I think under some circumstances it doesn't but mine does without fail.
Had my drivers side sensor replaced too recently, under warranty. Sounds a bit of a common problem to me
Yes it does mate however I went into the house to open up from asda and she shouted open it up so I just pressed the key! DOH! Then left the keys on the side. Luckily there is never anything of value inside it. He took a hooded top that I've had for years and was only on the passenger seat as I had it wrapped around some 2.5m length roof battens so they didn't scratch the dash!
yes, there is a proximity sensor each side behind the door handle (you should be able to easily spot it)..
Yeah mines was replaced too and had the exact same symptoms as yours Spooky....sensor replaced under warranty and perfect again.
