Well, I've had my megane rs a couple of months now and only ever seen one until today, second viewing and what was I driving? My mrs's flippin fiat 500, musta looked like a right tw*t chasing up to get a closer look. Anyone on here the proud owner of this beaut?
I just posted on a thread of his asking as well It was bothering me that there was a nasty big bird sh*t on the tailgate lol, I'm amazed how few megane Rs that are going about round my way
Where abouts are you mate? I'm in South Queensferry: In my 6 months I've seen only 4 Meg 3 RS; 2 White 250s (1 at Sainsbury's Craigleith Sunday; the other on the approach to the FRB), OG 250 M9 near Falkirk; 275 Trophy R LY on the A8 at the airport before heading to Glasgow. Seen about 4 mk2...
I live in Dunbar, often round Edinburgh/East Lothian/ Midlothian area though. The Mrs sometimes uses the megane and works in a salon in morning side though I try to avoid her using it lol. I've seen a few Mk2s going about, there's a local lad has a red F1 with white alloys, also seen a black mk2 ragging it round the a1 roundabout Dunbar over the weekend, wasn't you was it? Lol, just caught it in the mirror as I went the other way
Whoever it was it sounded like they were giving it the beans! Its got me keen on ripping the standard exhaust off and cutting the centre silencer off or buy a new system, akra I had on the Clio was immense but £1,800 for the megane is a bit much, plus I hate droney systems so I don't know what's best suited
Did this black meg have a cage in it? one of my mates spotted a similar loud weapon near haddington a few months back...my one sounds fairly standard, Millet Cat Back on it, but still has the Cat. My fave roads are either towards peebles and Moffat, or from mine towards Gleneagles
I couldn't say for sure but it sounded lovely changing gear..... Always up for new B road journeys, might fire up that direction. A7 is a decent one, right down past gala and Hawick towards Carlisle, was down there couple of weeks ago when I swapped my wheels, nice sunny day....can't beat it
Its got a much more bassier tone at lower revs, but still keeps that megane 2 'whoosh' above 5,000rpm, can't really hear the pops inside, it does burble and pop a little on the overunn if you are outside. I loved the 'whistle' the standard megane 2 system used to give with half throttle but thats gone. I think mk3 systems are a totally different game really, -jamie- has a de cat and a box removed, I've heard a couple of his vids and it sounds great
That's the thing though, hearing motors outside give a totally different perspective to inside. I ha a ktec system on my 197 and it litteraly droned every panel or plastic trim in the car. Changed to the akra, loud enough to laugh at the noise but no drone and popped like beeatch. Presume scorpion systems are much the same as miltek? Often find they're so similar in design
