Had the pleasure of detailing this new 265 for a member.Nice weather for the finished shots too. The befores (lovely British weather) All washed and rolled into the garage, the car was clayed (this pulled a suprising amount off and the paintwork felt so much better for it) and then paint depth checked, gladly no paintwork has been done: Paintwork was in really good conditionn with only some very feint scratches, so the following combo did a great job of taking any of the marks out but really improving the gloss: Small bump on the back bumper: Then wiped down with Gyeon prep: Onto the protection Gtechniq was chosen: http://s1367.photobucket.com/user/d...tail053/IMG_6116_zpslvmrlx9o.jpg.html?filters[user]=135647822&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=45 Whilst the C1 was curing I set about the wheels, arches and brakes:
Exo was then applied and that was it for the first day, very pleased with the result though: So onto day 2, started with the trims and under the bonnet, all courtesy of Gyeon trim: Parking sensors dressed, whilst I was there thought I would do my plate too Then Gyeon view on the windscreen: Then the fabrics coated and leather:
The car is mine, only two weeks old. I resisted the pressure from the Renault dealer for their new preparation. I am glad I did. The car looks absolutely amazing, I am so pleased. The LY paint really makes this car stand out. I know it is not for some, but there is no mistaking this is an RS. Thanks Ed for an excellent job and the aftercare advice. Now I just need to get this bloody running in period out of the way!
Great work and thread again Liquid: amazing how much came off on the clay bar given how new the car is! Looks a fantastic spec as well. Welcome Selermk6, hope you enjoy the car!, there's a couple of discussions regarding running in the engines on this, maybe worth checking this out, different schools of thought regarding how it should be done
Lovely job ed, thought i was reading my own thread before i saw it was the facelift! i will get round to booking back in eventually....!
The manual says take it easy for the first 600 miles. I think I will stick with that, although the car seems to be begging me to let it loose. I have not even pressed the RS button yet! i am well pleased with the car, the gearshift makes the car feel so interactive.
press that rs button and put the throttle map on extreme its like a different car and pops and snarls you will love it
Thanks I have had a quick scroll through the RS monitor functions. Can't say I noticed the throttle map. Will look for it later today. cheers
