250 - Best 0-60 time?

Discussion in 'Megane Discussion' started by James B, Dec 3, 2014.

  1. Just for a bit of fun, what are people's best 0-60 times? It's always fun to play about with the monitor. I've only ever done it a handful of times because I try to be nice to my car  but managed a 5.65 once!

(Ignore the 1/4 mile time - I didn't break any speed limits so it took a while :tongueout:)

Oh and a fun G-force graph!

  2. Still haven't done this on mine yet! must have a try  What mode did you use for that time? Sport,extreme?..

  3. Was it downhill?

  4.
  5. What's that G thing all about, don't understand that

  6. it shows how much you get thrown around your car/seat steve from the shown central position, from the looks of it he needs to brake harder and accelerate quicker rofl

  7. How does one use the lap time
if you was on a track do you have to stop on the starting line then race around to the finish then drive again

mine around 6.2 i think last summer only done it once had the wife and kids in(kids loved it wife hated it)

  8. With the lap timer selected I think you pull the trigger/button at the bottom of the control stalk to start the lap, so as you pass the line. Then pull it again to record a lap, each time you pull it I think it records a time up to 3 laps?

It's just an integrated stop watch, nothing more complicated.

  9. ahh that makes sense never used it ;to be fair i only use the gauges but hardly any make sense lol

Thats the traction off the line from the LSD.

Genuine post and reason BTW before you start your pish.

  11. Diff 100% will make a difference getting off the line

  12. Just a standard 250 really, bar coilovers and a Milltek cat-back

Haha the graph was from a drive home from the parents (about 10 miles). I was concentrating pretty hard and didn't realise I had left it on until I got home and saw the graph. Can't brake too hard because on all of the corners you're braking mid corner entry :tongueout:

Yeah it's got the cup pack so I imagine the LSD made a huge difference to the traction I got. It was with the spare wheel and toolkit removed, but it was with one passenger which more than makes up for that!

  13. I can't remember what mode tbh! I've found that I've been using Linear a lot, nice and smooth

  14. Yeah that's all it is, nothing fancier than that!

  15. Apologies for the thread resurrection

Taken on private land and using a Racelogic Performance box:

    Quarter mile run:
    Speed(mph) Time (Secs) Distance (mtrs)
    0.00 0 0.00
    10.00 0.83 6.04
    20.00 1.64 23.58
    30.00 2.72 64.41
    40.00 3.65 112.10
    50.00 4.67 179.08
    60.00 6.21 304.15
    70.00 7.47 424.17
    80.00 9.25 621.90
    90.00 11.33 882.07
    100.00 13.40 1170.80
    103.69 14.40 1320.00

    0-60:
    Speed(mph) Time (Secs) Distance (mtrs)
    0.00 0 0.00
    10.00 0.84 6.19
    20.00 1.64 23.48
    30.00 2.74 66.12
    40.00 3.67 113.12
    50.00 4.45 164.98
    60.00 5.70 267.40
    70.00 6.91 381.94
    80.00 8.09 512.80

With worn front tyres, rampant wheel spin and using 2k start revs against the handbrake. Out of curiosity, what's the 0-60 & 1/4 mile times for a stage 1 car?

  16. its a graph that indicates how much effect your driving will have on a lady's panties ! PMSL

  17. I've been getting consistent 5.6/5.7's.. is tuned though

  18. Best I've done is a 5.3. Standard 275 Trophy

  19. Can't wait to try mine. But still running it in. At this rate it will be another month before I fully open the throttle.

  20. Haha, running it in?! What's that? I hit the limiter on the drive home from the dealership! I've never believed in running my cars in, drive them with gusto from day 1. I do still show extreme mechanical sympathy though, warm ups, cool down, oil change every 3k miles etc. Always found engines to be more powerful if driven hard from day 1, but still looked after mechanically

Best way to run them in anyway Ginns IMO. Always provides a stronger engine doing it the hard run in way

Not to mention the fact that someone has already probably kicked its cunt in from stone cold at the docks.....

  22. hahahah, exactly. People always think I'm an idiot when I tell them I don't run my cars in. They just don't understand. Ironic really, people run their new engine in taking great care with revs etc, then they do 1 mile round trips, Rev the nuts of a cold engine and don't bother changing the oil until 15k miles. Oh the irony.

  23. Ovy

    Ovy

I constantly get 5.6s in my 250 but I am modified and to be honest the monitor is more fun than accurate.
just to clear up something in an earlier post the timer starts when you do ie wheels start to move.
agree with above engines have been thumped testing and delivery for sure. As long as warmed up and cooled down being turbo's all is well

  24. Well gave it a hard run today and it was exceptional. So much better than the 250 was. Need to use it more just under 250 miles on the clock now and probably won't get chance to get out in it for a few weeks.

  25. 0-62mph quickest for me on my sport monitor in my 250 cup stripped out was 5.27sec but had FULL tank of fuel. Getting average of 5.3-5.4 on monitor

  26. I think anything under 5.5/5.6 is optimistic. There's only so much a FWD car can do and I would say that's the ceiling.

  27. id be interested in this too as the new civic apparently hits 100mph in 11 secs

  28. Does anyone find that first gear just revs out very quickly? I've only ever driven my own so can't compare but I've always found it to rev out extremely fast! No matter how light you are with the initial launch away!

  29. 1/4 mile in 14.2sec standard and I'm sure stage 1 is 13 sec iirc.

these are certainly not drag cars.

0-60 in 5.3 in a standard car is bloody optimistic. Unlikely.

  30. Try 13 seconds

  31. 5.3 standard car is very optomistic as some say but remapped and stripped on the sport monitor 0-62 times is achievable but there are debates how accurate the monitor times are, anything 5.9- 6.0 is good for me its is a hot hatch not drag car as quite rightly pointed out.

    How stripped is it?
