R26 wanted, west midlands area

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by r26pete, Mar 29, 2015.

  1. Hello all, after a fruitless weekend wasting my time looking at very poor examples of R26's I thought I'd try putting a thread on here. I'm looking for a nice tidy example, preferably with less than 60,000 miles. Definitely not one that looks like it has been dropped of a building and rebuilt by a 5 year old.

If you are thinking of selling drop me a PM, cash waiting for the right one.

    Cheers, Pete

  2. Didn't go well then mate?

  3. No. I couldn't believe how bad they were, ALL 3 OF THEM! I will never go to Birmingham to look at a car ever again!!!!!!

I might resort to paying a bit more and go for an RS250. Looking at reviews of the RS250 they also seem capable of the odd track day here and there.

Just buy mine, I got it from Stourbridge.

  5. Your car is very tempting but getting up to Doncaster is an issue. I'm not sure the wife would do a 4 hour round trip.

That's a fair point, the car would put a smile on your face, but a miserable woman would soon take it off.

  7. I did a 7 hour trip when I picked mine up.

    Well worth it.

  8. I would sway from miserable and lean toward angry. To her, a car is for getting from a to b. Nothing else.

  9. If Dan is reading this, can you please PM me your phone number. I can't PM you because your inbox is full. Ta.

  10. It took me ages to find a good one. There are a lot of sheds out there that's for sure. You realise it more when you're in the market for one. I'm lucky in that I could afford to be fussy. I work on the railway so travelling comes free. It was just my time that was wasted. Up here in the North East, these cars are rarer still and very rare do they come up for sale. So travelling was my only option anyway. The fact that I only wanted a Yellow one made the task even harder.

When looking for a certain type of car it depends on a lot more than purely location, I have owned and sold cars in birmingham that the new owners have been very pleased with as have many others, even if the 3 you looked at were poor, you would kick your self if you missed a mint one because "you will never go to Birmingham to look at a car ever again" Birmingham is a big car sales area so there is very poss more poor examples than good ones, you had a bad experience in Birmingham NOT that Birmingham is bad.

  12. Birmingham and Bradford are on my list of places not to buy a car from.
There's always others for sale, It's not like an R26 is rare.
