  1. As the title says.. In the next month or so I'll be looking to buy a set of tires for the R26, problem is I'm stuck on which ones to go for, the car is my daily but I'll be reducing the amount of mileage so not to fussed on how quick the wear rate is, I'm aiming for a track day and heading to the ring in August.

    Choice of 4
    My current Michelin ps3's
    Michelin PSS
    Federal 595 RS-R
Nankang NS-2R soft or medium compound

PSS's. Superb on the road and more than capable on track. The Last two you mentioned compromise the on road drivability and is why i have switched back to PSS's instead of running Semi slick type tyres all the time.

  3. I was actually looking to get the PSS in the first place but saw that the federal and nankangs are a few quid cheaper so thought I'd throw them into the equation seeing as their semi slicks plus with summer coming up I'll be doing a few B road blasts regularly that they'll be up to the job

  4. I really rate my 595RSR in all but cold conditions.

However some tyre experts whos opinion I value have said the PSS is better all around

  5. Andy have you used yours on track, read a few posts on another about the sidewall being soft and the tyre actually splitting.

Should of said in my first post that I'm not fussed about weather conditions to much as come October It'll be off the road for winter

  6. I have ps3's and they are great on my everyday set and AD08's on my track wheels.
The PS3's are a brilliant all round tyre

what is the best size for the megane's

ive seen people running 225 and 235

I need to order some tyres but just unsure on the best sized tyre

  7. I have just bought 4 Goodyear eagle f1 seem to be good tyres and a lot of people pointed me in that direction when I asked the same question.

  8. For what it's worth I'm running the NS2R in medium all round. Rate them highly also, unless it's cold and damp, then they're a bit skittish. Good in the wet once up to temp and brilliant in the dry.

  9. Yes , no cracking at the time. Got some cracking appearing though which looks like perishing TBH. Not 100% satisfied what it is.

  10. If you think ps3 are good all around tyres , wait till you try the ps2 , or even better the PSS.

Your r26r came out of the factory with 225 40 18. I would stick with that.

  11. R26.R came with 235 PS2s or 225 R888 semi slick as the semi slick 225 is the same width as a 235 road tyre

  12. I run 225 PSS for road and 225 semi slicks and makes no difference

  13. cheers for the info

It would be for track wheels and AD08 R's

some places the 235's are cheaper than the 225's which I was shocked at

  14. I'm going to be using V70a for Time attack get them for 156 delivered

  15. That's £280 more then the Federals, are they really worth that much extra, assuming their semi slicks too

Slightly swaying to the RSR's atm as their £86 each

  16. Depends on how much track time you do. If you are using it 90% as a road car then go for the federals

  17. I would go for the Federals mate, where did you see them at £86 Opoeno?

Had them on my 182 and thought they were great! Think with the meg I'm going to go for the NS2's

  18. Thats on tyreleader mate.

What compound you going for on the NS2's?
