New 275 owner

  1. Hi all, just bought a brand new 275 Trophy after selling my boring Golf R for something a little more fun! Wow, what a car, loving the Akrapovic and incredible handling! Just a few questions, the dealers were useless lol. My car is number '474', does that mean that production is in limited numbers? I heard only 100 cars were UK bound? Also, what 275 mods are people doing? Induction etc. regards

    Tom

  2. Welcome mate! I'm guessing that's the MK 6 R you've moved from? I have always had a soft spot for them.. what's the difference between that and the Meg?

  3. One is boring to look at has crap handling and no fun, the other is a Renault

  4. This. I only purchased the MK6 R in September last year, fully loaded with DSG etc. I literally couldn't stand it any longer. 15-20mpg, boring to drive, shockingly bad handling with 19" alloys which weigh 22kg each, and just generally no fun at all. Before the golf I had a MK7 Fiesta ST, that was great but too common so I sold it and bought the golf for some exclusivity, turns out it was the total wrong thing to do. Truly terrible car. (Was a 12 plate FVWSH, 20k miles etc) The megane is leages above in many ways!!

  5. Welcome  what spec 275 did you get? Get some photos up!

  6. Thanks
Judging from your profile picture my car seems identical to yours. Pearl white, black wheels, pilot sport tyres and all the other standard spec, cup chassis etc I'm based in Kettering, so fairly local to yourself, not sure there's many around this way! Just how I like it lol. Car no 474. The dealers were useless with information, can you tell me anymore?? Regards
    Tom

  7. Nice  white is a lovely colour .. but a pig to keep to keep clean haha. I can't wait for the summer months!

I got Ohlins on mine but probably a needless, extravagant extra to be honest lol. Nice low number you got though, mines No. 921  Think they are only a limited run by time (up until the end of March).

  8. oh right, that's interesting! I wonder how many are in the UK? I read online somewhere that there's only 100 being brought here and just 30 trophy R's. I have a few niggles that need looking at, USB drive is dodgy and one speaker seems to rattle, but nothing major! Are there any mods available for the 275??

Mods for the 275 are the exact same as the 250/265 since they are the same car.

  10. I think regardless of the amount of 275's on the road, you'll rarely come across a 275, 265 or 250. I sometimes go weeks at a time without seeing any Mk3's, so they're exclusive enough for me  I like the fact that I don't see the same car as mine.. you can bet on seeing multiple VXR/ST/GTi's every day!

how many left shows under 500 250/265 cups combined. (if I've read it correctly) And only 44 265 trophy's

  11. Lucky you. Like you said, went from an S3 to a 250. Know exactly what you mean. S3 , safe & predictable, Migraine, seat of your pants stuff.

  12. Hi mate, welcome along.

I think the 100 number is a piece of misinformation to be honest. Renault will sell as many as they can, up to the order books being closed, which is due to happen very soon I believe. The 30 R's is correct however, and they all sold within 24 hours of being announced.

Although the cars have build numbers, there isn't an upper limit, just as there wasn't with the R26. Yours being 474 sounds like an early build. Does it have the auto dimming rear view mirror?

  13. Early build like mine. Mine is 459. Mine doesn't have the auto dimming rear view mirror. Been sat at Renault since October last year ( part of a Silverstone cancelled order ) hence only 18 miles on the clock when I bought it last week.

  14. Yes all RS Meganes are a are site around Bucks

  15. Exactly the same as me! Mine too was destined for Silverstone in October last year, I picked mine up from Renualt last week with 9 miles on the clock lol!! Did you get yours from Romford by any chance?? I drove all the way to Liverpool !

  16. Mine was from Renault Manchester.

  17. I got mine from Manchester, and at no point did they mention these 'Silverstone' cars, despite me calling every week asking for a delivery date.

Do you know anything more about these cars? Where they part of a driver training/track hire deal? I wonder why they were cancelled?

Did they tell you this and offer them at a reduced rate?

  18. Managed to speak to someone at silverstone regarding the cars before I bought it. It was a change of management who decided to cancel the order . So they never actually got there and then sat in a compound for 4 months. I saw three advertised. One in Manchester one at renault Wirral and one in Romford. There was a decent discount on them.

  19. The delivery sheet for silverstone was under the passenger seat in my car.

  20. I bought the Wirral car  Looks like the Romford car has been sold too!

  21. London West I was told have the last Trophy R in the country. I saw it there on Saturday. White one with red wheels.

They also have a new 275 in Black £29,000. I am not sure about the colour black, but then again it was in the showroom.

  22. According to how may left the are only 3 Trophy R's registered in the uk at the mo!

  23. There have been a few R's come up lately through dealers but I think they were customers who didn't take delivery of their cars that were ordered back in July. I guess they lost the deposit on them. They don't seem to hang around long though.

£29k is pricey - most dealers were doing 3-3.5k off list a couple of months ago.

  24. There's also a Trophy R in LY at Benfield Renault in Newcastle

  25. That's interesting, can't seem to find that one online?

  26. It was on their forecourt around 2 weeks ago, may have sold since
