Rob I know what you mean. If someone offered me 8k I'd be tempted but what else can you get for the money?

 

I know it's not 'for the money', but a LY 275 Trophy? Before the order book closes?

Mine is better in every way than my R26, it honestly is.

 

I'd already have one if I could afford it :-/

My cars paid for and done with. Doesn't cost me a penny other than tinkering/maintenence. How much do you pay for yours out of interest? Pm me if you'd like as its a serious question.

It should be for 25k, I wouldn't have one over my R though, the 275 is a very nice car though but it's not worth 10k more than my R, 2 years down the line it will be worth less than my R

 

I couldn't copy the url and now it seems to have gone from autotrader.

Price etc - Depends if standard seats/wheels are wanted.

Seats are leather Recaro sportsters (same as new megane) Wheels are R26.R wheels in anthracite.

 

I drove both, and as much as I've always loved r26rs. You get so much more for your money with the 275. The r26r is a future classic no doubt, but times have moved on very quickly and the 275 will outpace an r26r whilst giving you all the rs monitor 2 goodness at the same time.

 

It was still there yesterday when I went past. Looks a bit plain with no decals.

 

Mine is sat on the drive SORN. I just can't part with her. My wife keeps nagging me to sell it but I like to just look at it on the drive. Silly I know but I cannot let her go. If someone offered me more than the booked price, I still wouldn't sell her.

 

I was tempted by this wanted ad, but I couldn't bring myself to sell mine either. It's low mileage and almost exactly how I want it. I'd need to spend £15k to get anything else I really wanted!

This is the problem, mine is like new still and my worry is the same. To get something with the same kind of performance but newer you need to have a huge mountain of money. When I bought the Clio I asked the dealer out of curiosity how much he would give me for my Megane if I was to part x it. I could have punched the b*****d. I'd rather it sit on my drive and rot away than let them steel it off me.

 

What did they offer you out of interest? It's like my old 172. The glass's guide had it at about £1,200 in vgc with low mileage. I sold it privately for £3,800.

 

They offered me 4.5k. 2008, 08 plate 53k on the clock. Tested til November with no advisories at last one. Quickshift and carbon bonnet plus remap are only mods. Belts done last year. All tyres are Hankook with lots of tread. Bodywork is outstanding, no dents or scuffs and wheels are perfect too! Everything works. Car is faultless. One or two stone chips on the front bumper and that is it. It really angers me when I know that on a garage forecourt the window price would be around 7 half k.

 

Gone are the days of pxing cars or motorbikes for me.

I'm all for an easy life and the convenience of px is attractive but the dealers take the utter piss with their offers.

 

4.5k what a Piss take. Window price on a ly or gw would be more like 8.5-9k. Private you'll sell within a week at 7.5 I'd say With those mods.
