Both headlights gone at once?

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by ghosty0101, Mar 16, 2015.

  1. Just got in my car to go out and neither headlights came on! It seems weird to me that both would go at once, is this just a coincidence or is it something different like a relay or a fuse as I suspect?

  2. Happened to my misses in the middle of bloody nowhere. Wasn't a meg though was a bloody Citroën.

    Very common issue.

  4. It was literally as soon as I switched the car on, they were both out! What a pain, I was supposed to be somewhere tonight! Would you recommend going through the arch or taking the bumper off to change?

    Arch, 1min per side.

  6. I'll grab some spares tomorrow as I only have one that fits! Sod's law! Thanks for the help guys!

Haha, I've had by bumper off 3 times this last week to change the hid kit and then sort a faulty ballast. No chance through the arch on mine.

I can fit a HID on mine through the arch, the diesel is a mare though!

  12. Glad the 250 ain't as hard

  13. I'm trying to change them now and I can't get them out of the projector! Is there a clip or something I am missing?

  14. It's been 30 minutes and I haven't done one!

Leave the connector on the bulb and pop it out by pulling down.

  16. It's just pulling the projector with it! I must be thick!

That's how it's held in, should be of some help for you.

  18. Yeah I can see those bits I just can't get a purchase on it! You're very helpful, my old man told me how he's done loads of these over the years and there was a physical spring in there, that proved him wrong!

The non-projector lens has a spring clip, these are held in like above. You need to try and pop it out of the top clip. it does take a little bit of force mind.

  20. I managed but my old man tried the other side and has broken the whole projector.... Not happy

Ooops. That's not good. I've got R26R ones for sale at the minute BTW

  22. No, no he can't have done, coz he's done loads of these over the years. Just take the spring clip off lad, what you messin' about at?

Shouldn't LOL mate, I know

  23. I know, he says its my fault and he wants to glue it in and it'll be fine! He's one of those people who can't be told! I'm absolutely livid!

  24. Haha I like the sneaky sales pitch, how much?

  26. Might have to get the old man to buy those for me! He's currently outside with some glue. I don't like anything half arsed on my car, if you're doing something do it properly! I'll get him to have a look at yours this evening!

No bother mate, they're sat in the boxes waiting patiently.

  28. Superb!

  29. He'll probably break those and the bumper getting the new ones in!

  30. Just went and had another look, what's happened is that he's pulled the metal holder out with the headlight, and the metal arms that hold it in have straightened out! Is it repairable or is it curtains for my drivers headlight?
