Discussion in 'Track Days & Track Driving' started by jwilliams, Mar 16, 2015.

  1. Not been on this track yet, really looking forward to it!

  2. Not sure why my posts aren't posting in the correct section

  3. I used to do the evening sessions at snett, great track and more biased to power cars

Snett is a great circuit, One of my favourites tbh. Just need more power for it LOL

  5. Looking forward to getting back out, will be my first time at Snett and in the meg. I've heard the long straights can get a little boring lol

  6. Where abouts is Snett? I might book this one myself

  7. Norwich Dan, will be great to see the R26 there! Me and the missus are staying in the Premier Inn in St. Neots Monday and Tuesday night. It's half way there from where I live

  8. Yeah I'll have a gander of me shift pattern, the evening ones are ideal if I'm working day before as gives me time to check car in morning

  9. Same with me, luckily I have that week off so I thought I better keep myself busy

  10. That's my week off too, who you booked with? Javelin?

  11. Aye mate, getting back out to Donington in August too thats my favourite track

  12. I've got the RS day at oulton booked for August no doubt get donnington in on the Aurtum as you can get some bargains and I'm only 10 mins away from there

  13. I did look at Oulton, I'm hoping they'll do Bedford again. That was great last year

  14. I want to hit cadwell a few times this year as it looks really involving, got an evening session booked there may the 6th

  15. That track looks great would love to go there sometime this year

  16. Yeah seen some great vids and pics so looking forward to it. Doing quite a few evenings for time being as currently paying for me wedding too!

  17. I think I'll be sticking to evenings to be honest, couple hours out on track is more than enough for me, lol! Good luck with the wedding buddy

  18. Yeah I'll do a few open pit lane full days and some evenings, try and average one a month tbh.

Cheers mate, it's all booked! Actually in a converted barn next door to Donington park paddock entrance:wink:

  19. Haha! Happy days mate, will be a good day I'm sure! Hows the meg?

  20. Yeah it's sound now mate, running stage 2 so 287bhp now.

Coilovers have brought it on leaps and bounds, did a sprint day Saturday and the transition between corners is great

  21. Blimey that's some pretty good figures! Yeah i bet, i can't wait to gt sone coilovers I'm having to stick with H&R springs for now (being fitted next week)

  22. Tbh I only went for coilovers for the fact it came with the top mounts so it's another point of adjustment

  23. Not too bad then. @notnormaldan will see what it's like with the springs, alot of people on here say it's pretty much the same lol

  24. Springs are perfect compromise tbh, the coils are a little stiff but I don't do massive road mileage as I have a 1 series diesel too

  25. Suppose if I stick with springs I can focus more on the upgrading the brakes. Which to be honest I'll more than likely have to do before Donington anyway haha

  26. Yeah I run ds1.11 pads epic tbh, and brembo high carbon seem popular discs

  27. I was thinking of going for the genuine discs and some CL RC6 pads for the 250? Lines, fluid etc. Not sure if they do HC discs?

  28. You can get HC discs for the 225/r26 so it's worth contacting g172

  29. I've got a 250 mate

  30. Yeah I know lol, I'd be very suprised if the discs are different. Don't quote me lol

  31. Oh I didn't know that! Will give G a message see what he says lol. Cheers

  32. I'm not certain but g172 will know mate

  33. 250 disks are bigger and different pcd.

and they only place you can get them through is Renault. Unless you opt for a 2 piece setup from PFC or the likes

  35. Cheers mate
What brake setup would you recommend? I was thinking just replacing the discs with genuine ones put replace the pads with some RC6, brake lines and some CL DOT.4 fluid. Can't really be dealing with the squeal, had the on my 182 and was a mare

Unless your doing a lot of track work the RC6 is overkill. OEM discs and some RC5+'s are more than upto the job of fast road and the occasional trackday. I wouldn't personally recommend DS2500's as IME they are shite but people seem to rate them on here, Or the DS UNO/1.11's that the MK2 boys rave about.

Mike has fitted RC5+'s on the front and Yellowstuff on the rear on my recommendations and rates them very well.

  37. Cheers for that Jamie, RC5+ it is then.

  38. Rc5+ are on offer at ktec 118 quid

  39. Cheers Dan, ordered them

  40. No worries mate, there on offer for the mk2 too so I'm half tempted to buy a set and try them out compared to the ds1.11.

I did wonder why the only discs I found last night were OE or 2 piece bits that's why I suggested speaking to George (G172)
