250 Changing AUX point to USB

I wondered this also as my 2009 GT doesn't have the media connector. Unfortunately I am lead to believe it depends entirely on the version HU and MFD you have installed.

 

Bit of a thread resurrection, rather than start a new one.

has anyone successfully done this yet?

Otherwise, does anyone have any info on whether it's possible or not and if the latter, why?

by my understanding, the aux point no matter rca or stereo jack do not provide any power output at all. they have been in the market for a few decades already. usb is designed to cope with it.

 

This is why I think a different harness is required to retrofit the aux and usb

 

Anyone know of such a harness. Is it available through renault parts service?

 

I am also really interested in this! Got a hold of a OEM USB 'tune point' but can't find any wiring looms to fit!

 

I saw one for around £50 on eBay. Do hope someone works out how to fit as Id like to play usb sticks
