Easiest way to remove front brembo brake caliper pins. Will try with a punch in daylight tomorrow. Any tips guys.
A punch. A hammer. And some patience. I still chipped the paint slightly when I first did mine, despite using tape and rags to mitigate against the inevitable. They were less than 6 months in when I did them. If they come out and they're not bent, clean them up with some emery paper and plenty of copper slip when they go back in. Get some of Mr Pink's pins.
A proper PITA. I done some last weekend and cut them out and got some laser punches from Halfords as they are quite long. The punch got 2 out before bending. Lots of heat too btw
And dont use copper slip when you put it back together, it's an abrasive and shouldn't be used on an alloy caliper.
once I remove them why cant I replace with stainless 5mm allen key bolts with nylocks for next time or are they 6mm ??
I've had ones before that refused to budge, when they start bending in the middle your in trouble. I had to get them off the car and onto the pillar drill to get them out!
A good little diy trick is to quickly remove wheel and tap pins while brakes are still warm from use. Not perfect but helps a bit.
