225 Air Con

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Hainsey, Mar 12, 2015.

  1. So I received an OBD Reader today, something that could do more than a mobile fault code reader, managed to read a fault code of;

DF049 - refrigerant sensor circuit, voltage outside tolerance limits - Active

I have recently had my air con re-gassed etc, However, When I press A/C, the compressor doesn't kick in, is this a Pressure switch?! or is there a way i can bypass the switch to get the air con working?! Has anyone got anymore info they can share?!

    Cheers,

    Tom

  2. From what I've previously read if you lose to much gas the ecu switches the aircon off, I think the only way to get it working again is with clip

  3. Sounds like you have a leak. Have a look at the bottom connector on the air con radiator, both my Megan's leaked from there.

  4. It's the Air Con Pressure Sensor just to the left of the rad as you look from the front.

Unclip the plug and unscrew the sensor from the pipe, it's on a Schrader valve so you won't loose any gas.

I bet the sensor connections and the plug are corroded and all green stuff on them.

Had the same thing on my brother's 225.

New sensor can be had on ebay for £20 or £90 from Renault lol.

  5. Thanks for this mate, as stated people think it is a gas leak, all of this was tested when I had it serviced, but will buy a new pressure switch today (many garages have said the same)

    Thanks for your help!!

  6. It's in a crap place really, exposed to water. So it's easily affected.

We wrapped it up with electrical tape once the new one was fitted.

  7. Yeah il do this, hopefully can get it tomorrow... Planning on taking the front bumper off anyway due to a bulb flickering (loose connection)

  8. Another question on this topic:
Does it matter if you don't fix the Air Con Pressure Sensor? Happy to do without air con...
