.....is this the right one - the one that everyone goes on about, that causes the vibration through the cabin? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-M...rs+Type:2.0+Renault+Sport&hash=item4d1188465a Thanks.
Cheers mate. I was just checking cos its called 'top right' mount but obviously its on the left as you look into the engine bay.
The mounts physically look the same but have different rubber stiffness, for different models. Most parts place list one mount across the specs. Genuine is best, and not that much dearer. Ask Ads on here.
I bought one off of eBay for £39 a few months ago and have just had it serviced at Renault and they said it was saging so I will buy a genuine one next.
Well I fitted one of the £40 ebay jobbies today. It has completely transformed the car! I'm so much happier with it now. If it doesn't last long then at least I'll know that its worth investing in a proper one.
You could fit one of these to it to strengthen it up a bit. http://www.cazanracing.co.uk/powerflex--upper-engine-mount-insert-106462-p.asp
What's wrong with it? Was going to get one myself. I've fitted the lower rear powerflex insert and its been perfect. Fitted exactly as it should and no added vibrations.
Thought they refer to the wishbone bushes. I've fitted both gearbox mounts and so far so good touch wood
don't think there are any issues with the engine mounts, its the camber adjustable wishbone bushes that cause a problem.
i take it you fitted new mounts followed by the powerflex inserts ? did you feel a difference in the gear change once fitted ?.
Yeah get a slight vibration on initial start up now and seems to go into gear nice my short shift always seemed very notchy these seem to make this better.
