250 RCA and Ipod connectivity

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by jamesbeaumont, Mar 2, 2015.

  1. Morning guys. So I have finally found a 250 Cup which I am picking up on Sunday.
    It has the RCA input below the stereo so I have two questions.
    Has anyone successfully retrofitted the USB and AUX interface? Or have a nice custom solution?

    Also is it possible to play music from my iPhone via the Bluetooth? I use apps like Spotify mostly.

  2. yes, you can use bluetooth for handsfree/audio streaming.. changing the analog inputs to usb requires exchanging the HU I think.. there is another recent thread on here about that..

  3. Good news about the iPod but not ideal about the HU. When did they update to the USB/Aux or was it an option?

  4. That is a very neat little device! I believe I can play all my music through my iPod, it was more the USB playback I was looking for.

  5. you may also need something like this to power that bluetooth receiver

    simply T out the power from the cigarette lighter socket to feed the that adapter and hide them all away maybe inside the glovebox.

    The above is a complete waste of time, It already has Bluetooth connectivity!

  7. Is it possible to play tracks from music steaming apps Jamie?

    Yep, It will play any music/Sound from you phone. Well on my HTC anyway as its basically just thinking its bluetooth speakers. I use Spotify as my main music player these days with no issues of it playing.

    Other than the sound quality the stock system is actually pretty decent.

  9. how lucky you are because none of my cars come with a hu with bluetooth function, the newest didn't even come with a stereo.

  10. The bluetooth works well especially with apple devices, i use various audio apps and use the handsfree alot for phonecalls;
    I wasnt aware there was even an rca option, i never use my usb connector anyways!

  11. I can't quite understand why some have the rca and some usb, seems to be no correlation in ages?!

    USB was an option on them IIRC. With the RCA being the standard fit
