Megane 250 cup pack how do I check the full spec?

Discussion in 'Megane Discussion' started by Rocketron, Feb 23, 2015.

  1. I had a ktec on the clio before the akra and it droned so loud in the cabin, felt like it was resonating the car to bits, any drone on the megane?

  2. It's deep sporty bass is much more noticeable, but I don't suffer from any drone. I had my rear seats down for a few days as was carting stuff around and it sounded absolutely superb under acceleration and the overrun. Can't speak for drone on other systems, but doubt they're too different.

  3. Do they have a resonated option? Must admit it sounds fantastic

I wouldn't go with the resonated option of any of them, Sounds much the same as the stock system.

  5. Think I'll get some use out of it stock before I ripping this one apart. Least then I'll
Appreciate the difference when I do upgrade

  6. Ok guys, picked up the RS today, bloody nice car I have to admit.

Even better than expected given that it has the rs monitor which I wasn't sure about plus a few other things that I'm not sure that are part of optional extras or not? Bluetooth? Rear parking sensors? Tyre pressure monitoring system? Now what has confused me is the tyre pressure sticker on the door is for 18 inch wheels but has the optional 19s does that mean it never came from factory with that option?
Not long got back so I'm going to have a read and see if the manual says anything about using the rs monitor, certainly says renault sport on centre console

  7. Bluetooth is standard as is the rear parking sensors. To get the rs monitor on press the two buttons on top of the volume stork at the same time. Then use the buttons on the back to navigate through it.

  8. Brilliant mate thanks for that, to switch it on does the engine need to be off or doesn't it matter?

Also one thing that's niggling me slightly, my steering wheel is the slightest bit off centre, with having clio sports I understand they aren't generally 100% straight it's no more off centre than the actual thickness of the stitching itself but it's bugging me, my clio was the same which was as tight as a drum and had the tracking set numerous times and nobody could get it bang on!!

You guys suffer the same with your meganes?

  9. It will come on if it's off but you won't get any engine reads (stating obvious) but you can still go through each page.

My wheel is slightly off but it depends on the road. Some roads it's perfectly straight others not so much. I've had Renault look at it and had the wheels aligned and that didn't change it.

  10. It must be a typical trait then, my clio was the same, I think the fact it has a highlighted stitch line directly in front of you is why it's so noticeable because if I look to see if the rest of the wheel is parallel to the steering column you can't tell it's off at all and like you said, it's not all the time. The fact it's yellow makes it stand out more than the red stitching in my last motor.

None the less, what a car...looking forward to detailing it tomorrow

  11. There are actually 9 buttons on the monitor stalk, inc the drop down tag underneath that activates the monitor lap timer and the rotary wheel that scrolls through amongst other things, radio stations, options settings and rs monitor settings none of which are mentioned in manual

  12. I gave up reading the manual, good excuse to have a tinker tomorrow. There's a fair bit of electric gadgetry in these meganes, concerns me that their prone to electrical problems lol or they fairly reliable in that sense?

  13. The electrics are quite reliable to be honest. It's more mechanical things that let the Megane down, but these aren't usually engine related, more like drive train and suspension/steering.

  14. Yeah looking through the service history, it had a lower ball joint (presumably lower swivel joint) replaced at 4500 miles on warranty....I see renault haven't ironed out the very same problems they've have for years.

Engines seem pretty strong as well. I flooded mine and didn't bend rods. That was about a year ago and it has done almost 20k since then

  16. How the hell did u manage to flood it?

  17. Lives in Scotland :tongueout:

  18. Haha cheeky git, I do too and it's pissing down in all fairness. Does anyone happen to know of a set of cup alloys that want traded for 19 inch steevs? Think I prefer the look of the cup 18s
