got in very well with the conti 5p for both, if your doing more road than track it's the way to go I would say, if more track than road look at the khumo v70's etc.

  3. Pilot super sports would be my choice for road and track

  4. And mine

  5. Most of the semi slicks you get are decent but not really that much cope in the rain until they warm up properly which is useless for every day road driving. If your doing more road miles I'd suggest sticking to road tyres, conti, Michelin, Bridgestone etc.

Supersports, Will cope with track work, Better performer than the sort of do it all tyre as well, IE RSR's/AD08/NS-2R's

  7. I've done a few laps with the pilot super sport in the dry and very wet conditions, brilliant brilliant tyre and to me their under priced.

Ive seen places selling the lesser PS2 for more LOL!

Thats fine though, Cheaper they are the better.

They really are a road useable version of the PS Cups that I've used. Fancy a set of Cup2's to try at some point

  9. I'll be having a set of pilot cup 2s next , got 6 direzza and 2 R888s to get rid of 1st though so may take a while

  10. Car currently has Michelin PS3s on atm ns2rs a step up?

  11. Given super sports are £140 per corner in an 18 it would be hard to looks past Vredesteins Ultrac Vorti at £75/corner. I currently have RSRs on my 172 cup. It will slide 50 metres locked up if a brake at 40 in the wet..

Maybe in the dry, certainly not in the wet though.

Those types of tyres very much compromise the road driveability compared to a proper high performance road tyre and is one reason I have stopped using them. Dedicated proper R rated tyres for track work and PSS for the road from now on.

  13. So what would be a step up from what I have? Or are they good enough

Super Sports as has already been suggested

  15. Cool will look them up

  16. Openeo are selling 225/40/18 pilot super sports for £100 each inc delivery

  17. That's seems good will look at them cheers

  18. There's quite a few variations on there same size etc

  19. What size PSS do you run on your 250.

    225 40 18?

  20. Yea mate

  21. I got Supersports, excellent.

  22. What size and codes are urs mate ? There's a few dif ratings but same size

  23. 225/40/18 ZR18 (92Y) Extra Load:

  24. Is it okay in terms of handling / looks / safety running the 225 on a cup pack 250 which is 235?

Or is the non cup standard on 225?

As for £100 I'd invest in some PSS, currently on a new set of PS3 all round

  25. My cup had as stock 235 pilot sport, and I switched to 225 supersport, both sized are reported on the documents.
Personally I found the car more agile, but grip has also increased. Win-Win!

  26. My fault 235 40 zr 18

  27. My last set of PSS lasted 5000 miles.
Sport tyre but if it last like R888 i don't like them.
Just fitted brand new set of Contis...Sport Contact 5...very good rubber!!

  28. Is PSS a R-tire like R888?
5000 miles on PSS is less miles than I got from my R888...

  29. I've got over 10k from my PSS and they're still above the limit! Maybe Croatia has worse roads then even us

  30. I had them on for around 5000 km, included a trackday, and you can see a bit of wear only on the outiside (I don't have camber plates).
Based on what a few friend told me you can easily do 15.000km and a few hours on track!

  31. My PSS have easily done 10K road miles with a trackday on Bedford, Snett and the Ring.
Finally hit the wear limiter and I've ordered another front set.

  32. Mine lost outsides within 2000km..
    Maybe I was too harsh.

  33. On track? You may need camber plates...

If you think the PSS was bad for wear then god help you with the Continentals. Wear rate is ridiculous on them.

  35. If you plan to do serious track work I would recommend to have two sets of tyres, one for the road and a set of Direzza for the track.
They are the most durable road-legal track tyres for the Megane.

How do you drive to make a set of sport tyres last 5000 miles on the road?!?

  36. I am asking myself this same question.
Checked the Conti's yesterday..yeah,also some visible wear after 1000 miles..
I should rethink my driving style..

  37. If you tend to consume the external side of the tyres you may want to check your alignment and tyre pressure.
A good way to reduce this is to increase the front camber, but you need coilovers with camberplates (Nitron, KWvar3, AST)

  38. Tnx!

  39. Sorry to bump this but what size do you run on meg3 in pss? I can only find 225/40 or 225/45 in 18s no 235

I run 245/40s, 235s are available just very hard to get hold of.

In yours I would stick with 225s though since your Enkei's are only 7.5 iirc
