What have you done to your Car today?

Discussion in 'General Chat' started by Strell2, Jul 23, 2013.

  1. ordered my R26R spoiler at last!

  2. Insured and taxed it for tomorrow and loaded my RSRs into the boot. Going to get up so early tomorrow and go driving all day!

  3. Hopefully it doesn't come broken in 3 pieces like mine did lol.

  4. How do they fit to the car? Stick on?

  5. You have to bolt them on Dan, they do have an adhesive tape on them too as well IIRC.

  6. Cool, battery drill at the ready or are the holes there?

We used to have to fit T5 spoilers on the back of the volvo v70's for customers, wasn't too bad as you got a nice template and tailgates were glass fibre

  7. You have to drill. It leaves a hole in the middle of the boot where the old spoiler bolted through but i just used a little rubber grommit from Halfords in mine.

  8. Yeah Steve1 mentioned that he used a grommit on his old r26

  9. oh dear! where did it come from?

  10. They bolt to the boot lid, the are two fasteners either side of the spoiler, you need to drill the lid to fit it, think they were 8mm.
You get four plastic guides that go into the tapped holes in the spoiler that have double sided tape on them, you peel the tape of and offer up the spoiler and after its located lift it off leaving the guides behind for the holes (get more tape it takes a few goes and the tape looses its sticky after a while!)
You will need to get a rubber grommet for the Middle hole from the existing spoiler.
The are three fasteners that hold it down, it was a big of a pig to get off and I snapped it in half, get some dental floss to cut the glue.
You will need to remove the boot trim to get the the fasteners.
It's quite easy to do but its a two man job!!
    Good luck!!

  11. Yeah I've had all the boot trim off when I was belling all the boot wiring out mate, cheers for the heads up sure I'll manage it

  13. Renault Wolverhampton, but they sorted it out without any fuss. The next spoiler that got delivered was packaged the complete opposite to how the first one came in.

  14. After the recent period of bad luck, which consisted of curbing a wheel.

    I bought a Brand new one. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1424199026.633991.jpg

  17. easy to fit rob how much did Renault take off you for that

  18. I tried removing mine twice with no luck.

Waiting on my custom knob to arrive

  19. Whats your standard knob like Glen? I need a better insert for mine so might buy the whole knob if its a good standard one

Gearknob is easy to remove, turn it 90degs and pull up.

  21. Piece of cake mate. Speak to Ads mate. Not sure on what the exact price was. Less than a ton anyway. Was bugging me that the numbers had worn off and you can't just buy the insert from Renault. I know there are inserts available on E Bay but I like to keep things original ( apart from the sh*t bonnet that will be replaced next ).

  22. £100, glad I don't need one, robbing gits

  23. Left or right feirny? And it's mint mate I have two spare now

  24. Im sure i just pulled mine really hard, may be wrong though and hit myself in the face lol

Driven it after having the new clutch fitted, feels awesome with a paddle friction plate and it's a hell of a lot smoother than it used to be. Feels great to drive now.

  29. Had new spark plugs and gearbox oil changed

  30. Polished up my engine cover and applied stickers. :-)

Today service (Motul RBF660 for brakes, X-Cess for engine, 300 LS for transmission), panel filter, braided brake hoses (CTF) and Brembo HP2000 pads:
