Help with airbag resistor

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by nahalcko, Feb 8, 2015.

  1. Ok I have installed a new seat on my car and now I have the check airbag warning light and message on (as expected). I kept my two pretensioners and only removed the seat airbag. Can I put a resistor only on the airbag wires or I need to remove the pretensioners also? Ive read many threads mainly on clio forums and everything made sense but I still wasnt sure, so I wanted to ask you guys to. Sorry if it sounds silly. Most people install two 3.3 om resistors but I can find only one place to fit mine and thats on the airbag wires. And the other thing is I have 3 wires coming of the airbag, which two do I use ? I will post a picture below. Ive tried the blue and brown but the light kept flashing. Also I disconnected the battery only for 10 mins(time I soldered) and some say it has to be off minimum 30mins. Can this be the problem or is there something more I havent done? Again sorry for the dumb questions, but I dont know what to do.
    Thank you very much.

  2. Just use clip and get it disable

  3. done

So after many tries I I finally figured how to remove the warning light from the dashboard. First you have to solder a 3.3 ohm resistor to the airbag wires (in my case Blue and Brown). I also tried to solder a resistor to the black switch wires ( see it in the pictures) but that didnt remove the light all the time (after restarting the car sometimes it worked sometimes not :worried: ). After that I just shortend the wires of the switch and soldered it back to the main plug, then I tucked in the wires in the hole where the plug sits. Now there is no warning light  . I didnt disconnect the battery. Here are some bad quality pictures (sorry) If you have questions ask, I will try to help you.

  4. or you could just use clip and be sure the rest of the air bags work

  5. I went to the Renault Dealer and he basicly said "NO we are not doing this" then I asked one of are Renault "GURU's" and he said "YEaaaah no problem thats easy" then he called me 10 mins after and said "my guy doesnt know how to do it" and I had to do it myself

  6. It's easy. Go into the air bag module and just disable the seat bags takes about 5mins if that.

  7. For the seat position switch you need a 400 ohm resistor. I turned the airbags off but still had the light because of the switch.
