  1. Can anybody help me my drivers side window has just stopped working half way up ! That's boring is there a fix I can do with out spending loads of money ?

  2. Something similar hapend to me, the problem is the humidity, you have to open the indoor dash and get into to the window motor, dry the harnesses and clean them, by the way cover them with tape so that does not happen again. Also check the window trim button harnesses

  3. Cheers mate do you think this will work

  4. Work for me, i check first the button, don´t work. Finally i decide to open the door, its a little hard, but in the mechanical manual u got an easy guide.
All work when i clean then motor. My window stock complety open, and work time to time (when it dry), the problem is i told is the humidity. Raining allot over there?

  5. No it's hot were I am , just randomly happend I checked the fuses and the switch but just need to check the motor so fingers crossed it will work

  6. Consider it could be rust and dirty

  7. Think some of the guys have had regulator problems too, but it's not happened to me so don't know the symptoms..

  8. My passenger window stopped too. Strip it down, clean the electrical contacts, water-proof by wrapping in electrical tape, re-assemble and working fine now *touch wood*

  9. save yous all the hassle renault have now said they have a 10 year guarantee fix it for free as its a common fault

  10. Do I just give Renault a call ?

  11. Don't think it's free but they did contribute 75% towards the cost.

  12. Can anybody confirm this?

Paid nearly £300 for my drivers door to be done (and a few other little bits), this included the 76% contribution, and it doesn't even work properly. One touch doesn't work half the time and I usually have to make it go all the way down before it will go back up. Sometimes goes in the wrong direction too. Rubbish.

After this shambles, I fixed the passenger one myself for free, and it works perfectly, unlike the one I spent hundreds of pounds on at a Renault dealer.

  13. safer to fix it yourself, at least you know how its been done

  14. My driver windows stopped the other day, luckily its stuck in the up position. You can buy little module's on eBay that apparently fixes the problem. Il be doing it after christmas, seems easy enough

  15. Any one know topic on how to remove the door card what a pain in the arse any help would be a god send as my window has fell of its runners and jammed only good thing is that it's jammed shut

  16. The door card lifts upwards to get of once you have taken all the screws out...2 in door pull handle 1 behind the door handle 2 at the bottom of the door and there's 1 hidden behind the bit that the storage box sits in this just pull out it only clipped in!!!!

  17. The cheap fix is to just disconnect the regulator and clean the contacts up! Works every time for me!!
The reg is the little black rectangle box on the motor!!

  18. Thread revival.

hi guys had my regulator fixed after my window died last year. Same thing now but I can hear the motor trying to do something.

When it does work it goes up when you press down, down when you press up anything it wants.

Is is this the regulator or motor or something else?

  19. probably regulator, they are a proper pain in the arse.I think i may have fixed mine now, got 2 from ebay and have cable tied some latex gloves over them to stop the water getting in, proper shit design.

  20. Thing is mines been updated to the renault modified new version and 9 months later is f#cked again

  21. haha midnight agreed, I've pulled the trigger as well

  22. They do the job but you lose the anti pinch and one touch, they tell you to seal the connections with silicone, which would be a mare if they did go wrong again. You can get refurbed oem ones from ebay for around £40

  23. If this is only been repaired 9 months ago, surely it's still under warranty?

I'd be taking it back, though to be fair, mine did the same crazy up when down/down when up crap straight from being done but I didn't take it back because the dealer damaged the car and wouldn't take responsibility. It never actually stopped working completely though...

  24. Yeah it's under warrenty but they said if they diagnose it and it's not the parts that were replaced its £94 fee! rip off...

  25. Speaker grid off, speaker out and tap the regulator gently with a small hammer whilst pressing the button. Mines worked fine for about 6 months now.

  26. Thread resurrection....

I bought my car about three weeks ago from here. Seller advised both windows were goosed. Not the first time. He replaced both modules.

I used the passenger window thus morning and it didn't drop, then it did and I put it straight up. Drove to work no problem. Got in it tonight and for 35 miles of motorway it kept dropping itself, going back up, dropping itself. I joe putting it up. By the time I was home it was down and not for coming up.

I checked the fuse to see if it had blown. All good. The switch seemed good and no further clicking sounds could be heard.

I stripped the door card and inspected. Slight bit of water there but not much. I tired drying it out but it still failed to work.

With rain hanging over my head I removed the module and the motor case and wound the glass up with a drill. Refitted the door card and went and had my dinner.

I kept the module out. Do you think QER will have it back? It's three weeks old and seems to have failed but I didn't replace it and I've not got the invoice.

  27. Seller has supplied invoice and I've contacted QER. They came with two years guarantees and have been in less than a month. Be pretty unhappy if they won't exchange the duff module.

  28. QER happy to exchange...
