The legend that is Chris Harris chose the Trophy R as part of his car of the year special and he has posted the video today. Impressive that is is only 8s or so off the pace of a 991, Which in themselves are ridiculously quick cars. Trofeo's are brilliant tyres, Must try the R's at some point
Agree it would be good to have seen them included but still an impressive line up of cars there. The Trofeo R's are over £200 a corner, ouch!
Watched this before .. I liked the look on the mechanics face when he was checking the Farrari f12 tyres ... Completely bold after 30 laps

Nor me, I remember the first time I saw one in my rear view the noise just melted my ears away as I wound the passanger window Down and swore profusely at the drivers side to wind down lol. About the only good thing about driving a bright yelllow car is that those kind cars give it the beans when they go past
The drag race just shows what all that money gets you - made the Megane look silly. Also shows for all that money you can't go huge amounts faster in a corner!
Brilliant video, loved the R and the noise that Speciale makes is just amazing. It'd be good to see the apex corner speeds Id bet the .R is right up there. I remember Top Gear magazine had an article with that in it and the R26.R was pushing well above its weight in that category, I think the Abarth 500 had the quickest apex speed at the hairpin on the circuit right enough.
How is the .R faster than an M3 on that track. Is it really that good or is the M3 a bit of an under performer.
Tyres will play a massive part in that, I don't know what they were running but if they were on stock tyres then the Meg has Cup 2's whereas the M3 only runs Supersports IIRC. The Megane was also quicker on Trofeo's in another video but they are big money and only suitable for track use as they are very soft. Mega tyre though if i could still get them cheap i would use them as my go to track tyre.
I was thinking tyres but surely the cup 2s can't make up the 180 odd bhp the .R is lacking and not forgetting the PSS are still one of the top tyres. id really love to try a trophy .R I wonder if they will sell them as a supercar type experience.
