Does anyone have experience using a Gen 90 ECU in a Megane II? We are having continued problems with stage 3 mapping the car with the OEM Sagem ECU. Are there other plug and play alternatives.
Injectors Big hybrid Forged 3" ex flowed head flowed exhaust airtech cooler etc The mapping is being done locally (in Australia). The tuner has experience with the Gen90 in a ITB'd Clio. The main problem with are having is the dreaded "Check Injection" but each time we get to the bottom of the code, it rears its head again with a slightly different code. Getting sick of paying good money to replace all of the sensors only to have the ECU freak out and put the car into limp mode again and again. I feel we'd have more control with an aftermarket ecu. Would just like to know how wise this path would be.
Just go for a proper ECU if you have issues mapping the standard one. The Gen90 will require some loom work as its made to fit the clio loom.
Specialist Components have produced a plug and play kit for the Megane, a couple of friends use them on other cars... top quality kit: http://www.twinkam.co.uk/shop/article_SC307/Megane-225-RS-Plug-and-Play-ECU.html?sessid=VQ3aGXsBlsqQdPYU7mzHoIe2QG4wtQu5cSSGTjeW8gXCEFMuMB5QtCsbYtdVvBNM&shop_param=cid%3D45%26aid%3DSC307%26 http://www.twinkam.co.uk/shop/page/...5cSSGTjeW8gXCEFMuMB5QtCsbYtdVvBNM&shop_param=
Gen90 catalogue has a pip loom for the Meg II... But what ECU do you suggest? Local support sends me towards a Motec but that is far from pip.
If you are in Australia, I would go with Emtron. They have a plug & play kit for Megane 225/R26 and it should come with all the nice things like proper traction control with wheel speed, lots of logging. And to make yourself an idea, if Emtron is an ECU, Gen90 is a single jet carbureter. If you want some contact details, let me know. S.
