Hi I'm new to Meganes but remember the best mod on my old nissan 200sx's was a decat exhaust. It used to make the turbo spool up so much quicker and made the car feel so much quicker. On the Megs do you get the same result? Can you just buy a decat section and if so do you get that same effect? Is it a big job changing it over or is it as simple as it should be? I only ask as everything seems like a pain on these cars lol cheers simon
Ive just fitted ine to mine and its a pain in the arse. Took me 5 hours but could do another in 3 hours now I know the way it comes out. I love the noise and would definitely recommend one.
what difference to noise is there? is it the whole exhaust or just a decat pipe you fitted? Not sure of what these Megs look like underneath. Does it make a difference to acceleration?
Yes acceleration feels so much stronger. Mine has a ktec exhaust aswell which really did sound nice but now it sounds awesome.
With our 3'' and remap from a RStuning around 13hp on high revs. Also better sound. Spool up the same. 2 hours of work. Sorry about my bad English.

Mines a scorpion decat but to be honest I bet they all sound just about the same, it's only a short pipe after all.
Thats a good idea. Could do with some decent recording kit TBH .. iPhones / phones sound hollow and thin on the playback due to limitation of the recorder ..
Hey guys can I ask a question, if I have a stage 1 map but then if buy a rst decat later on , do I have to have that re-mapped again?, ive heard that it runs lean if you don't have it mapped, but does that also mean if you have a stage 1 map already??

I take it then mr.clarke that you been driving around with the decat on before the map tweaks for it and everythings been fine then?? reason im asking is I have a stage 1 already and paid for a decat from RST , is it ok to run round with it on before I get it tweaked, will any bad things happen?? exhausts aint my speciality and not much experience with em, what I am asking is once I get it put on MUST I GET IT TWEAKED immediately , cheers for any help ....
In theory , you should be ok. Just dont go WOT. Take it easy, stay off boost. Personally I would get it mapped as soon as I could
I've been giving mine plenty of stick since fitting the decat and the 250 turbo and its been fine. Took the plugs out last weekend and no sign of it running lean on them. I know its not perfect but I will be interested to see what afr's it shows on the rollers.
you mean re-mapped andy right, as its already mapped with st1, I am abit confused cos all st1 maps run slightly rich anyway, all my other ones have , will ring the guys at leeds in the morning I think afterall that's where I got the decat ), cheers for all the replies guys do appreciate the input....ty
Yes , map tweaked. All turbos run quite rich on a map. I just dont like the thought of it running lean.
Dtaylor on here runs a decat without a map for over a year with no issues and does quite a few track days too
