I got the car on Saturday and have noticed since an annoying buzzing when no music is on. It sounded like a fan or something but it seems to come from the rear view mirror????? No idea why but does anyone have any clue as to why I have buzzing from rear view mirror?
mine did this, turned out to the air con fan.. turned it down & it sorted it out? (oh & a good smack on the dash...)
the fans are off I thought initially it would be that, you've made me think though its probably not the mirror but a rattle elsewhere manifesting itself in the mirror.. mmmmm frustrating ha ha
Yes pull apart the plastic trim that clips upto the windscreen. Be careful not to pull it too hard so you dont damage the wiring as it pulls apart.
Yes there is. There is on mine. A round tube with a small fan held in place with 2 screws. And guess what mine was buzzing too until I tightened the screws.
I found the buzzing got a lot quieter when I put my fingers over these air vents so new there was something behind there.

took the housing off on my lunch and didn't have a screw driver handy to do the screws but gave a good blow in the vents and its quietened down a fair bit. Will have a go at tightening up later and would a bit of wd40 be ok or could that do damage.
well got the fan out and cleaned the impellors with damp cotton buds and blew in really hard from all directions but its just noisy when screwed in. The screws are tight it must be that there is some play in the impellor or something leading to vibration thats amplified when in the housing. I might try and source one from a scrapper. Do you know if all models of megane have these? What is it for? I bet they are a fortune brand new from renault
air con. I felt like ripping the wires out before. I've put posts on facebook to try and get one from a scrapper. I assume they'll be the same in normal meganes?
