Remapping a Trophy, price and gains?

  1. I've just got a Trophy and would like it to be a little quicker and responsive.

    What gains do you get from a remap and does it make it feel noticeably nipper and responsive?

    What sort of price is it and how do they do it?

    stage 1 £350 aprox
    260-270 bhp
    same on torque
    yes you can notice the difference
    they map it on a rolling road so it a tailored map to your car
     
  3. cheers Steve, the cars my daily driver does it make any real difference to reliability and mpg?
     
  4. Mine got better mpg after it was mapped.
     
  5. Be fine mate, tones of them live on track running a lot more power than that. It's a must

    Car is more responsive

    I have a deal with RS tuning on 28 FEB 15 so you can have £50 off the map.

    Price would have been £345+vat now £295+vat
     
  7. Or if leeds is too far theres always the fastchip RStuner box if you wanted to do a generic map yourself

Actually Henk does a custom map to your cars parameters and mods JJ, the Generic map comes with the Rstuner kit, but once verified you can send Henk a Cal. file of all the parameters of your own specific car once you do the power runs as specifies in the manual chapter 4.4 and he will do a custom map for you, just so peeps know :smile:)

  10. Yeah i know Henk does a custom map, but a few peeps don't regard that as custom as its not done on a rolling road
     
  11. Depends really steve, as RStuning is such a trek for me it was much easier for me to do it remotely via Henk.
    Buy the box wait for it to arrive hook it up to a laptop and 5-10 mins later its mapped!

    I'd always want a live map - regardless of how far it is, Paul made several tweaks when I had mine done to get the best out of it and to make sure it was safe for the engine. I'm not saying a remote map will do anything untoward but I'd rather be safe than sorry personally.

JJ then those few peeps are miss informed as a lot of others are, you have the software and the only difference is that we do the live runs then send the cal. file to Henk, only difference is that one car is strapped to the rolling road and rstuning are tweaking it there and then, and ours are live recordings of real day to day data and also the power runs that they do on the rolling road we do on a quiet road, but ours have real world data of road condition, wind lag and of course weight, the very things you don't get on a nice warm rolling road, afterall we don't go to work on a rolling road now do we or have a nice track day on a rolling road, I just wish those few peeps were properly informed of what that software can actually do, not just put a map in your ecu.........
     
  14. Er, you do get weight in terms of loading on a the rolling road. The idea behind running on a rolling road isnt to simulate a track its so you can get multiple safe , controlled runs utilising many parameters.

    You try getting a WOT run at the top of 4th or 5th on the public road. Its a bit dangerous.

    I am not saying one is better than the other, but I would say a Rolling Road mapping session is safer and more controlled.

Sorry andy, weight was my error, and well corrected, I have family in Germany so public roads no problem lol, but this is not about who is best steve ??? its just about options especially for those of us deep down south and not in the luxury of living close to rstuning in leeds sadly, and of course who do an amazing job and have helped me many times over the phone, if I was notts based I would go there too no probs .....of course leeds is still closer than munich mmmmmmm lol:cool:
     
  17. Rolling roads make it easier to see the effects of slight changes in the map. Personally I prefer initial mapping on the rollers then fine tune on the road.

    I used to drive to Surrey Rolling road from Nottingham with my last turbo car so Leeds seems close to me.

    How long does it take to do a map?
