Dilema: New RS265 or used 275 Trophy?

Discussion in 'Megane Discussion' started by widzia, Jan 17, 2015.

  1. Hi all.

I decided to go for Megane RS. So I went to a local dealer and here is what he offers me:

    A) To configure my own Megane RS265. So red one with Cup chassis, Recaros, 18' and additional comfort equipment costs 22 800 euro + 12-14 weeks to wait.

    B) Dealer has a 2013-10 white Trophy 275 with 6k miles on the clock and asks 24 800 euro - 2K euro more. But I could take it even now. Picture of exact Trophy below:

I love Trophy but basic RS265 is cheaper and brand new of course... now I'm confused.

    What do you think?

  2. Take 1k euro off the Trophy and go for that

  3. It's pretty much exactly the same car with some cosmetic changes. I'd save the extra cost and go 265
    But the trophy is nice.

  4. A 2013 275 Trophy

  5. Well yeah. At least a dealer guy told me so. According to him it's 2013 October. 420/500

  6. Official Renault press release was May 2014? Wouldn't of thought that would of reg'd any in 2013?

  7. Unless he means a 265 trophy ? 275 definitely wasn't out then lol

  8. It seems you are right. So perhaps the dealer has mistaken and the actual date it 10/2014 then. But it's definitely a 275 Trophy

  9. What about a used 265 say 1 year old save even more

  10. If there is any wiggle room for the 275, do it  It really is worth it!

  11. I'd say it depends on the trophy spec.. But the trophy has the akrapovic exhaust on as std if I'm not mistaken... That alone is a selling point to me! Plus any niggles or minor issues would have been picked up and sorted in the first 6k miles..

  12. Tough decision but, as long as the 275 is equal or better spec I would go for it. After the first few months you will forget the 275 was ever pre-loved anyway and it will be worth more when you come to sell.

  13. Is that the car all the press were using when the 265 face-lift come out looks the same reg, colour, wheels from memory

  14. Realise you'd just found pic online of a 265 me being stupid lol

  15. Considering it's not a steep jump in price to the 275, I'd go for that. Test drive them both?

  16. save your money and get the 265, i bought an 8month old rs 265 for £20k gbp and its new price with all the options was £32k gbp, the rs 275 is very nice but you lose an awful lot on a new car and you could spend the saving on the akropovic exhaust system and still be quids in

  17. Well that Trophy has 19' Speedline Turinis, automatic airconditioning system and alcantara recaros of course. The more I think the more I want Trophy

  18. P.s. I didn't have a chance to drive 265 one

  19. You can't get them 19s on a 265 and imo they're nicer than any of the 265 wheels. Plus there's the full akrapovic, the alacantera seats, all the alacantera interior bits. 275 would be my choice

  20. Still yet to see better looking alloys on any newer megs than the original 18's on the 250 cup

  21. The 19s on a 275 are way nicer.

  22. quite frankly.. IMO they are all the same. No huge drastic change in anything to warrant a more costly price tag.

    A 250FF, 250 Cup, 265FF, 265 trophy 275 trophy.. all the bloody same.

  23. I wouldn't say that brisa... As stated the 275 trophy has a few factory upgrades that otherwise would cost in excess of 2k.. The way I see It.. The 275 has the nicer wheels and a very sort after exhaust.. In sport mode they've been known to be rolling 290+ ... If he can get that for 1000 euro less he's getting a deal!.. Not to mention residuals on a 275 trophy will be better come sale time than on the lesser standard 265.

  24. How can it be a 2013 275 trophy? Im pretty sure they didn't get released until mid 2014.

  25. Diff.
    Thats different

  26. Agreed, I think the 19's on the 250/265 look horrendous. The 19's on the 275 are nice but still prefer tge cup 18's

  27. +1 this man speaketh the truth

  28. After considering all pros and cons (I've even test-driven a Toyota GT86), I've decided to go ahead for that white 275 Trophy (exactly the same as TeaJay has). Will take it home by the following midweek.

Thank you, guys, for shared your opinion.

  29. I would go for the trophy if they drop the price with in 500€ or match the 265 show them
what you can get the 265 for and see what they come back with you have nothing to lose

  30. To be honest with you, a time plays the most important role here. None of the local dealers has a new 265 in stock. This means I would have to wait 12-14 weeks. Too long for me, so I'll take the 275 which is in stock. Of course I'll try to beat the price by as much as possible.

    P.s.
I'll found a video of particularly this Trophy which I'm going to own.

each to there own polished face 19 steev's on 250/265 look fantastic. Am yet to see a diamond cut/polished face 18's :tongueout: to the OP the right choice imo 275 trophy.

If the price is thereabouts the same then it has to be the 275. Will hold its value better and has a few nicer parts and interior than the previous.

Plus the facelift looks better, Really brings it up to date IMO

  33. Well done and great choice

You'll love it I am sure ... just be ready to have to wash the bugger all the time haha! Gets filthy!

  34. Great choice, enjoy!

Be good to see some photos once you collect it
