GI Quickshift Group Buy

Got the shifter today so made a start on fitting it. After connecting it all up I thought I'd try the gearstick before I connected the Battery and ECU back up. Only goes forward and back so job stopped whilst I await my mechanic friend to get back to me with advice.

 

received mine today aswell not yet fitted it though

 

Bit of head scratching, a bit of blue air and car is complete and working. Big improvement that's for sure, seems very precise with very little vagueness unlike before the mod. One thing which I have never heard mentioned was the difficult location of the locking nut. I had to take the passenger wheel off which made access much easier.

 

So what did you finally do simon to solve the problem of it just moving fwd and back??, by your description you meaning not selecting all gears I presume )

 

count me in if the group buy goes ahead

 

Whichever way I put the shaft back in, I couldn't get the up and down movement. Eventually I got it work just by trial and error.

 

Does anybody know if the gearbox needs to be removed for this?

 

You don't need to remove the gearbox.

Ha ha the locking nut had me scratching my head for a while. Brilliant mod tho. Well worth it.

No there is no need, you can squeeze a hand and spanner from underneath, no need to take wheel off.

 

Is this going ahead anytime soon?

bargain £25 less than i paid from them direct. no brainer. i wouldn't wait for a group buy that is a great price and mod is so worth it.

 

Sure I said from day 1 a group buy would never happen, they hardly ever do
