So the car is booked in for a map next month and I wanna get a turbo back exhaust seen that's there's two sizes the 2.75" and the 3" is it worth paying that extra £150+ and going for the 3" compare to the 2.75" for a few extra bhp or not?
AFAIK unless you are going for big power then the 2.75 will flow more than enough, For the extra money you are not going to notice a few bhp. Im still on the stock system minus the silencers and have no plans to go for a bigger system, Even when i go hybrid. The OEM cat is th most restrictive part of the system, Of which i have already removed.
Yeah after some thought I think I'll just be going for a decat and getting a midbox chop plus I can buy other supporting mods aswel
sorry for going slightly off topic and it maybe a daft question but ill ask it anyway , I've heard that you have to map the decat in otherwise there maybe potential issues ( rs250)
Yep, you're right, its best practice to get it mapped straight away once fitted - the surge in torque at low rev's from not having the cat could do some damage to the internals otherwise
Plus you'll get more power and torque, my map tweak after decat took it from 262/270 to 272/285. (R26, obviously figures will be higher with a 250).
Had a quote from them £495 non res cat back but would be custom fitted to the car at their sheffield factory
Sounds okay but I prefer the ktec 3 inch with decat .... pops and bangs constantly and obviously has a larger bore. Renault Megane Sport R26 - KTEC Exhaust / Milltek…: http://youtu.be/w8o_LOTEedA
Think oem is 2.25 isnt it. Surely most aftermarkets exhausts are larger. to be honest the ktec one is the most satisfying out of all the ones ive heard
Oem is 2.5" i think but not 100% sure the link /downpipe may be 2.25 but the rest is 2.5". You'd be surprised theres a few aftermarket exhausts that are oem size scorpion etc
No its not its 63mm or 2.5" (well 2.48") http://www.meganesport.net/community/archive/index.php/t-38556.html
If anybody ever needs some welding doing give me a shout, i have about 15 pressure part welders at my disposal, they don't come much better than these lads!
