Their figures will be based off the Rs250/265 so not that far off but doesn't really apply to the Trophy-R

haha. French hatches do depreciate fast but nowhere near those figures. 2010 250s with all the options are still trading at about 12-14k after 5 years. The trophy R however will behave much the same as the R26R imo.
No getting away from the fact Renaults depreciate fast. Just look at similar aged 250s vs the Focus RS. I don't know why but the Trophy R just doesn't strike me as being as 'special' as the R26.R
Focus RS have been incredible for holding their money. Even though I prefer the Megane, I would have chosen the focus for that reason alone.
I would be really surprised to see the Trophy-R hold it's price like the R26.R. I'm expecting to see the R26.R rise in value further. Got my then 60 plate 250 Cup in Feb 2014 and that was at 12k. This journalist needs to lay off the sauce
By the looks of it they have no idea what the .R model is and how the previous model held it's value. More comparable to the Focus RS than the normal RS Megane or Focus ST. The newspapers are full of sh!t in most senses anyway! haha
Theres plenty up at around 11k, If you are unable to have the balls to haggle that down to what they are worth then you deserve to pay through the nose. FYI, I bought mine 2 and a half years ago for less than £14k with 12k Miles on it. Pretty cheap tbh but i do wish i had waited a little longer as i could of bought a better spec'd one for the same, If not less.
I would love to see any decent spec, low mileage 250's that you have seen advertised for 10k or less? I can't find any for less than 12K.
Will be interesting to see how and if they hold their value. The car market is a very different landscape to what it was when the R26r came out. The R26r is holding its value very well but like others have pointed out it just seems a little more special and a lot of them are used as pure track cars or garage queens which I can't see happening with the Trophy R. It would however be a mistake to assume that just because the V6 and R26r hold their value then the Trophy R will too. Only time will tell.
Aren't they only making 50 of them for the UK? Sure that would make them hold their value well.. Look at the M1 only 500 of those and their values never seem to drop... I think the top spec ones with all the expensive bolt ons will hold their value well... And be as rare a hens teeth in future years..
