Ladies and gents, this is has been done to death but having recently purchased my r26 I've had it serviced, done plugs and packs but it has thrown another cylinder 3 misfire fault on the renault CLIP program. i have uneven idle with minor cough and flashing eml light on warm idle, from what I've read I either need injectors replaced or cleaned. My questions are; being based in Newcastle upon tyne, where is the nearest place to get them ultrasonically cleaned? Is it unusual for injectors to need cleaning when the car has only 27000 miles on the clock with FSH? any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
Yeah I have read something was just wondering if there was anyone local near me. I would have thought if the injectors were dirty it should lose power under acceleration but it doesn't it's as smooth as anything but on idle its a very small splutter and a flashing eml. New plugs and packs have helped though. cheers
The small splutter sounds normal.. They don't idle smoothly these engines... The eml light thats not right... Could be a faulty sensor... I'm sure someone will be along. My injectors are the same from new.. I've run injector cleaning fluid it before and that helped the idling a little... May be worth trying that?
I'm i gateshead and used these: Teesside Autotech Ltd. Garage Stephenson Street, Gladstone Industial Estate, Thornaby, Cleveland TS17 6AL 01642 617626 Service was first class
Cheers, I'd searched the ASNU website but some seem to no longer clean petrol injectors! Il give these a shout and see what they say. In relation to injector cleaner, I tried that because idle was lumpy when I got it but no sooner did the fluid hit the tank then the eml light flashed, it's only on idle nothing when driving. I've a renault specialist who is nearby who plugged it into diagnostic and told me it was cylinder 3 misfire, hence coil packs and plugs changed. i think because the light started when the injector cleaner hit the tank it's definitely injectors, I'm not too bothered about lumpy idle just want the eml light sorted. I thought buying low mileage might have prevented any issues but.......
Which specialist do you use out of interest?? And unfortunately there is no rhyme or reason as to why or when the injectors will play up.
TW and S Barker in Newcastle city centre, guys in there are very knowledgeable and friendly, diagnosed flashing eml light with proper renault clip program, showed every fault ecu has thrown before my ownership, only two mind! As for injectors, well I'm just gonna get them cleaned ASAP and hopefully all will be perfect, frustrating this is the only issue!
