Michelin or Goodyear

  1. I need to get two new tyres and don't know if I should go with Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 2 £112 or Michelin pilot 3 £122 both seem about the same and have good reviews, anyone had any problems with either or is there any other brands that is worth looking at.

  2. Michelin for me no real reason but always used michelin on every car I've owned! Superb grip and last forever!

  3. Michelin for me

I bought two pilot sport 3's yesterday £110 each fitted

  4. I'm on Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 2's and can't fault them for road driving in wet or dry. Can't couch for track performance but that doesn't bother me as these tyres won't ever see a track!

  5. Where was that, the cheapest I found was £122 at black circles.

  6. Thought the Pilot 3's were crap, Eagles were good though.

  7. Michelin PSS... The ps3 aren't as good as the PS2 ...

  8. No I do not have a clue what to get.

  9. PS2's every time until we can get more P SS's.

Get the best deal then go to Protyre Lawrence hill.
    and get a price promise.
Check Weston and Wells Protyre too as sometimes they have a better deal.
Also got to Voucher cloud and get the £12.5 off too. [Link below]

Always had superb service from them and PERFECT balancing

    Cheers Andy

    Have you tried all 3?

I have, PSS are mega, Best road tyre you can buy at the moment IMO, PS2's and PS3's are very similar, the 3's have less dry grip but have more wet grip which makes it a better UK tyre IMO

  12. Yup... And the hankook v12s (which were pants) in order of preference / confidence inspiring PSS, ps2, ps3, hankook... The PSS are the successor to the PS2 according to the Michelin (can't remember where I read that)

  13. Pilot super sports are awesome , as Jamie says probably one of the best road tyres out there

V12's are terrible. So much tread block movement, Be better off driving on jelly.

I always thought the PSS was the PS2 successor but apparently it isn't, The 3's are where as the PSS is a complete new Ultra performance road tyre, Hence the are OE on M/AMG/Ferarri etc

  15. Yep i agree the Hankooks v12 were pants, i was silly enough to buy them for my rs 250.cup when the ps2s wore out, stick with the ps2 or super sports.

  16. I've got the PS2 on the front of mine and haven't got any complaints about them, just waiting for some warmer weather to properly try them out.

  17. PS3's ive got on mine and cant complain, especially in the UK's finest weather (aka rain!)

  18. Just got two new PS3 for my 250 Cup from Camskill.

I did think about getting four new PSS, but didn't seem to be available in 235/40/18? Or if they were i couldn't find anywhere that listed them in that size?

They are not available in the UK in 235 yet

  20. Cheers Jamie, probably why I couldn't find them then!

  21. Goodyear get my vote - huge rim protection, handy for when the wife is taking it out....
Event Tyres came out, £254 for 2 a few months back (couldn't take it to a tyre place for various reasons)

I have used both Michelin and Goodyear.

Goodyear's are much better for wet grip, dry grip is same and they last much longer then the Michelin's.

  23. PS 2's for me, allround mega tyre. Hankook v12 absolutely terrible.

  24. I got two ps3's from kwik fit online £112 each fitted can't fault them!

  25. Eagle F1's for me, superb grip in the wet and dry!

  26. nothing stopping you fitting 225's just need to make sure they're extra loads right?
