Forge recirc valve question

  1. Will be looking to change my SSQV and installing a forge recirc valve in prep for a stg 1 remap soon... Which spring comes on the unit?

  2. The valve by default will come with a green spring, if you order from Forge you can ask for a different colour spring.

  3. My forge dv came with 3 different springs! Even Mark Black was suprised as most only come with one

  4. Mine only came with one. No idea what colour as I had it sent to Mark Black and he fitted it, but its fine with 272bhp.

  5. Cool I'll assume it's the green one... Of as std it's good for 270 thats fine with me.. Only going stg 1  will be lucky to get 270 lol

  6. My cars already been mapped with the standard valve will I need to remap if I got the forge recirc valve!?

  7. No

  8. Don't most run yellow on stage one?

  9. Yeah mine came with all 3 but Mark put the yellow one in as I'll be getting a stage 1 map soon

  10. Did you buy yours directly from forge?

  11. No casan racing ... I got green, blue and yellow with but Mark said tgey normally just come with green unless you specify a colour

  12. What colour spring are people using for Stage 2? I have about 4 in the box?!

  13. Im using yellow

  14. Ooops think I fitted the strongest one in the box S-:

Guess I thought the stronger the spring the more capable of holding boost but I'm pretty sure that's flawed.

  15. Using red? The problem is that actuator could not open when it should causig over boost. U should try a weaker and give it a ride, if it holds the boost presion over 5trpm it is ok

  16. I'd get a weaker one pal ... I don't know a lot but I believe unles your running appropriate boost the valve will struggle to open and dump all the air

  17. Compressor surge sounds better anyway.

  18. True that!

  19. Seconded, I have a valve fitted in the vacuum pipe so I can shut off the re-circ when I want to have a flutter (-:

My 225 turbocharger the boost used to tail off late in the rev range like any small turbo even with the strongest (red) spring in the re-circ.

If all the air is not getting dumped by the re-circ its only going to go back where it came from like if it was shit off? I'm guessing the spring doesn't make a massive difference . . .

I will fit the correct yellow spring none the less.

    Cheers fellas.

  20. the standard recirc is fine even with stage 1 map. the stronger spring means it will close quicker and will cause a slight flutter at low boost.
