How much is the cam belt change that they need doing?

depends where you are - 400-500 for an independent RS specialist is a good price usually

 

I'm going to Mark Black's on Friday and it's £400

 

He did mine for the same amount a year ago and it took him half the book time of most garages!

 

Definitely don't use a dealership if you can help it. I got quote £1,500 for the cambelt and water pump by my local dealership.

In the end I used another dealer but got a significant discount through someone I knew who worked there.

 

i would get them to do it, or at least ask if they will do it at some sort of trade price

 

We do them for £410 inclusive of VAT using genuine parts (including the water pump).
