couple more little updates whilst browsing on ebay i saw a intercooler for £125, i dont think its much bigger than the standard one buts its 60mm thick. the outlet on it was a bit bent but should be easy to bend it back and the welds are not that bad considering the price of the intercooler Intercooler box by mattageaton, on Flickr Welds by mattageaton, on Flickr Outlet bent by mattageaton, on Flickr Intercooler by mattageaton, on Flickr Next up it the forge induction hose kit. i already had the throttle body link pipe so i thought id get the induction hose. what a pain it is to do up the jubilee clip on the turbo, the person who owned it before must of had trouble doing it up before because the standard one just slipped of. Forge hoses by mattageaton, on Flickr Induction hoses by mattageaton, on Flickr Induction hose fitted by mattageaton, on Flickr lastly i got a turbo hard pipe and gave it a coat of wrinkle paint. looks quite smart imo Turbo pipe wrinkle paint by mattageaton, on Flickr Wrinkle paint by mattageaton, on Flickr
i haven't really done that much to it lately. i remnoved the front bumper to look at the standard intercooler, as i wasnt sure if the new one i bought was any bigger. Same size by mattageaton, on Flickr IC thickness by mattageaton, on Flickr as you can see it wasnt bigger than standard only a bit thicker, so i sent it back. last thing i have done was to fit the hard pipe i painted with the wrinkle paint, i also sealed the oil separator on the top of the engine as it was leaking oil a bit. few little updates i decided to remove the standard airbox and make a ITG style induction kit. bought the silicone hoses from ASH hoses and the joiners was just some aluminium tubing from ebay and cut it to smaller pieces as it worked out cheaper than buying the proper joiners Intake pieces by mattageaton, on Flickr Air intake by mattageaton, on Flickr Air intake by mattageaton, on Flickr i bought a ITG maxogen filter for it from merlin motorsport, they done me a very good price on it and were very helpful. don't have any pictures of that though. all fitted Itg style induction by mattageaton, on Flickr i thought i would buy another filter for when the one on the car needs cleaning as they take a while to dry. i went for a BMC double cone filter, had to wait about a month for it as it come from italy. i had asked at euro car parts if they could order me one in as they are the UK distributor. one member of staff said they dont do BMC filters and another one said they only do veichle filters. so i rung up larkspeed and they said they could get one the filter come yesterday and guess where it came from? euro car parts, what a joke that place is! BMC box by mattageaton, on Flickr BMC double cone by mattageaton, on Flickr BMC cone filter by mattageaton, on Flickr lastly ive been thinking about a underseat subwoofer, but looking at the dimensions of them they would fit under the seat. so i set about making a small box for the boot that wouldn't take it up the whole boot. i went for a JBL 8" subwoofer and a small Pioneer amplifier. i still need it cover it in acoustic carpet. i also fitted a 2nd boot light on the other side, i done this in my clio as well as its very easy to do! few updates just before Christmas i bought a bottle of autobrite black dye. i wanted to use on the boot side carpet trims as i was covering the subwoofer in black carpet i prefer black to the standard dark grey colour Black dye by mattageaton, on Flickr Slight difference Boot carpet by mattageaton, on Flickr I set about covering the subwoofer box, ive never done this before but i dont think it come out that bad Boot by mattageaton, on Flickr Megane boot by mattageaton, on Flickr I then changed the oil on it. i took advantage of the free 1l top up offer from opie oils, i also bought a 'gold plug' magnetic sump plug Their really quite strong Oil + plug by mattageaton, on Flickr Gold plug wrench by mattageaton, on Flickr Christmas day i got a alpine double din headunit with bluetooth off the parents New alpine by mattageaton, on Flickr All fitted by mattageaton, on Flickr Carrying on with the interior i bought a set of seatbelt buckle covers and usb plug to charge my phone when using bluetooth Seatbelt buckle covers by mattageaton, on Flickr Drivers buckle cover by mattageaton, on Flickr Passenger buckle cover by mattageaton, on Flickr USB socket by mattageaton, on Flickr Received this today from Germany as i couldn't find one anywhere in the uk, they were either cloth or the leather was beige Bit dirty Leather armrest by mattageaton, on Flickr Cleaned Cleaned by mattageaton, on Flickr Fitted Armrest fitted by mattageaton, on Flickr
Can you link me to the USB plug? Ive tried 2 different ones and both don't work. My USB for sat nav works so it's not the cig lighter
thanks correct one for renaults, i bought one for my gearbox aswell http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-83814-g...rain-sump-plug-for-subaru-vehicles-ap-10.aspx
Nice update; car looks great. Liking the seatbelt covers, never seen these before. Armrest doesn't look like it matches the leather colour too well though. Is it just the lighting? Cracking car - miss mine a lot
bit of both to be honest, its darker than what it shows in the picture. i think because the armrest is renault and the seats are recaro, there not the same leather. matches the rear seats though on the lux models they match though, just like hens teeth and no body want to break up the interior not on my list is leather doorcards
I'm after leather doorcards too lol. Sending my wheel off to royal too can't wait. 197//200 wheels looks great.
Few mores updates! i was speaking to someone on Facebook to see if they sold carbon rear wiper blanks, he gave me one to try FOC. Carbon trim front by mattageaton, on Flickr Carbon blank by mattageaton, on Flickr how it fits Wing nut by mattageaton, on Flickr Whilst browsing on ebay i found a set of leather door cards, the seller had them up for £15 each or 'make offer'. i picked them for £10, so £40 for a set of leather door cards but delivery was also £40 Boxes by mattageaton, on Flickr Leather rears dirty by mattageaton, on Flickr Front leather doorcard by mattageaton, on Flickr thought i spray the handles black while i had chance as the textured rubber coating a marks and scratches on them Door handles by mattageaton, on Flickr i did ask Nickson about removing the door cards but i chickened out of taking them off, the fabric part of the doorcards they are held on by plastic rivets. so i drilled they head off them and removed them from the old doorcards. they plastic was quite scratched unlike my own ones so that was another reason i wanted to do it this way. i got it from this person, i think he sells stuff on ebay as well https://www.facebook.com/megacarbon1?fref=ts
bought small sheet of carbon and arrived earlier today, used it on the obd port cover Carbon cover by mattageaton, on Flickr Carbon by mattageaton, on Flickr
Wat do u think the rest of the center panel would look like carbon wrapped to match the obd panel. I have been wondering about it and the small bit you done looks smart. Would it b to much for the whole lot do u think.
The weave would look all bent in places if you done the whole center console me thinks.... Better off carbon dipping it for a better effect..
more updates firstly ive bought a lower engine mount powerflex insert. i haven't fitted it yet though, i might do it this weekend depending on he weather and while im down there i might as well change the box oil that i bought hopefully ive got the old style mount still, i know renault updated it to a different one Powerflex mount by mattageaton, on Flickr Lower engine mount by mattageaton, on Flickr Gearbox oil by mattageaton, on Flickr my rear tyres were just above the markers and with the weather we've been having recently i thought it would be best to get them changed. i went with the same as the fronts i got back in November. Michelin pilot sport 3's 235/40/18 95Y i got them from oponeo, a polish tyre suppler. not sure if they came from Poland or if they've got a depot in the UK. cheaper than camskill aswell! How much were the fog blanks? They look really good. Hate my stonechipped ones. Plus did you have to move your battery tray to run that induction kit?
Looks great that, Id love the fog light blanks but not sure if the Phase1 are the same as the Phase 2. How are you finding the BMC filter, I use them on our cars too ? (just panel filters right enough)
Just under £30 delivered from adam. No I didn't have to move the battery tray and had to cut a bit of it and also the ecu bracket. My megane seems to have a smaller battery than the usual one To me the filter seem to perform the same as the ITG one, but I haven't driven the car in 'anger' yet. Need some dryer weather!!! Yeah I think they really suit it. I'm glad you fitted them too
as it was decent today treated the megane to wash, it hasn't been washed since maybe Oct/Nov time. 18/02/2015 by mattageaton, on Flickr 18/02/2015 by mattageaton, on Flickr 18/02/2015 by mattageaton, on Flickr DSC_0918 by mattageaton, on Flickr 18/02/2015 by mattageaton, on Flickr 18/02/2015 by mattageaton, on Flickr 18/02/2015 by mattageaton, on Flickr 18/02/2015 by mattageaton, on Flickr 18/02/2015 by mattageaton, on Flickr Few updates as well with Powerflex bringing out more bushes for the Megane i bought the upper gearbox mount Gearbox mount by mattageaton, on Flickr Powerflex gearbox mount by mattageaton, on Flickr Gearbox mount + powerflex by mattageaton, on Flickr i also went to fit the powerflex lower engine at the weekend and the metal insert had come away from the rubber, so a new lower mount was ordered New lower mount by mattageaton, on Flickr New mount by mattageaton, on Flickr NEw mount + powerflex by mattageaton, on Flickr also last week when i was fitting the other air filter i had lost the small clips that the wheel arch screws on to Wheel arch clips by mattageaton, on Flickr Last ive bought some LED's for the interior (not the best picture) LED interior by mattageaton, on Flickr and last ive bought a new upper engine mount as well, Powerflex have sent a insert for the top mount to try and see if it fits ok
