Thinking of doing a hybrid turbo. what is the max hp and torque in figures I will be able to receive? Also I have talked to rs tuning he feels that 330 is the top horse power I can get out of a hybrid. However I have rang a company called cr turbos which would make me a hybrid and they say I could run up to 350. What would be the difference between the two? And why would the rs tuning say 330 is the most I could run? Finally is the gain between stage two mapped and a hybrid magane massively noticeable for the 1.5k you spend. If anyone else has any advice on what hybrid to buy that'll be awesome.
Probably because there is a difference between what a turbo could produce under ideal circumstances to what an enginer/block/rods/injectors can take.
I don't have any first hand experience with a hybrid turbo, however RS Tuning are VERY well regarded when it comes to these cars, so if Paul expects you can get 330 I would trust that. The main difference I believe that you will find is that you get more top end power, and where the stage 2 car will begin to feel sluggish the hybrid will keep pulling. Hopefully that helps a bit, I am sure someone with first hand experience will be along soon.
My block is fully forged and will be running 630 injectors when mapped. Thanks for any advice at all given just want to make sure I fully understand what I'm going to be buying lol. I thought the same about Paul too he def knows his stuff
330bhp is meant to be the maximum bhp for a hybrid turbo. The exhaust/turbine housing is too small and causes flow issues. anything over 350-370bhp and youll need to change the fuel system.
Sounds like your on the slippery slope of me and Steven.... Baring in mind you need a forged engine and all the other bolt on mods to see 330bhp safely.
Sam I believe I Spock to you at Prescott Sunday ! Rs tuning are the law on meganes as I said Sunday if they say 330 they like to keep the car safe and usable ! Go for it !
This car was also owned by kris butler from forge motorsport. The car has a fully forged engine build and also every single bolt on mod forge do for the megane. i missed the delivery on my hybrid yesterday, so need to collect it today
I understand this starts getting expensive, but is the fuel system what is stopping you from getting More power? Couldn't you just get a gt28? That will see you 350bhp? Or a bigger turbo still? I only ask because you say you've got a forged block..something I would like very much haha
Normally money is the deciding factor for most folk wanting more power, including myself. Even once youve build a forged engine, bought a bigger clutch, flywheel and bolted on all the usual supporting mods, you still need a big turbo kit, fuel system, mapping and possibly a boost controller. so for more than 350-370bhp it will cost a extra £4000-5000!!
no it's a complete helix kit, solid flywheel, 6 paddle plate & friction plate. All balanced with crank to suit the engine. I only may be selling as I'm looking to buy a focus Rs & a new Disco for the wife. If I can ill keep my car fit the engine & do track days & the seldom arranged club meets. I also have 2 good heads & a Rs tuning turbo manifold to suit the gt turbo. Lee
Hi guys, what Hidryb recommend to me for my Megane RS250 for 350 bhp, someone have a link of wheel compressor turbo? i need injectors more bigger? Thanks!
Hi guys, I have installed the hybrid where i bought from RS Tuning.....Paul was saying the intake manifold temp is too high from the data log file... He also refers if my Intercooler were damage....anyone one of you face this issue ?
