Looking for a new steering wheel for my 225 Trophy and like the looks of the 250 one. Is it a plug and play swap?
Did look at the clio ones but prefer the 250 myself. Looks like a bit of wiring work for me then. Hopefully it won't be too hard to sort out.
I had the link bookmarked until about a month ago and I had a clear out. Theres a guide on a french forum.
Remembered that I sent the link to Losi ages ago... http://megane2.superforum.fr/t14077-montage-d-un-volant-de-megane-3-fonctionnel-sur-megane-2
The mk3 Clio wheel is a lot nicer, the 250 wheel has little/no padding on it and the Clio one is quite chunky and nice to man handle around. Meg wheel is thinner, reminds me of the wheel in a mk5 Golf weirdly... I've owned both but it's subjective like most things.
Just ordered a 250 steering wheel and airbag so hope I like it. Ordered the resistors aswell so just a waiting game now.
Its definitely chunkier than the old one. Might not be to everyones taste but it definitely is to mine.
Don't like the stitching on the top of the steering wheel, looks crap to me. Might get the inserts done in gloss black though.
So did I until I came across this. I couldnt find a clio one without either yellow or red stitching which would look weird against the trophy blue.
Its supposed to be from a 250 Monaco. He offered me a few Monaco parts before I told him I had a MK2. Im happy with it whatever its from.
Was it a direct fit? I bought one a while back but the 'head' of the Mk3 didn't have a keyed shape? Also... how did you sort the electrics? I can't see the link as it won't translate and pictures won't show up?
Its a straight swap. I haven't done the wiring yet and to be honest I dont think I will. I never use cruise control so dont really mean anything to me. You would need to get 2 small pcb's made up with a couple of resistors which as far as I can tell should be about £20 according to that site.
