What's everybody plans for mods in the new year??

    Mapping my R26's forged engine and hybrid turbo. I might also get it resprayed as I've received my insurance payout now.

    Yes and Yes

    As said, 250 engine Much stronger than the MK2. I have seen one running 390lbs ft for a year now and it hasn't bent a rod.

  5. How many mk2 engines bent their rods using a bigger turbo?
     
  6. Never heard of one just get it mapped same as Andy bonds
     
  7. Wonder if the mk3 would bend a rod if it was fitted with the mk2 turbo?

    So many questions? Need to do some more reading.
     
  8. Mk3 has thicker rods than a mk2 that's how they manage to run higher torque. My mk2 made 355ftlb with no issues.

  9. Get my new springs fitted to the V3's and hopefully get round to making up and fitting my new front door cards if the carbon fibre group buy doesn't go ahead.

    Other than that I'll just be doing track days in it...also I'll be staying away from those sausage kerbs at Knockhill !!!

    Eh?

    That makes no sense at all. Why would it? It can't flow enough to make the same figures as the TD04 on the Mk3.

    Tbh, 300odd on the stock turbo is more than enough if you can drive it properly and exploit it. I have done countless TD's in mine and never really felt it was lacking in power.

    One reason I'm going down this route now is to keep up with my friends track cars as we lap nose to tail but they are now running more power in various stuff and another is because i have been getting extremely bored with it.
     
  12. .R spoiler, cooksport springs, short shift (probably not now due to andrew stopping) and rs tuning for a stage1 map
     
  13. Got my OZ f1s ready to be powder coated and fitted... Will probably put some new tyres on there too, got my intercooler to be fitted... Gonna get a forge recirc and sell the ssqv.. And then look at trying to sort out my disconnected feeling steering... Also for the steering wheel bush.. And may look at doing other bushes too. Also a fastchips remap is on the cards once thats all done..

    Then come spring / summer sort out my body work.. And look at getting an exhaust and an r26r spoiler... And if I can afford it bc coilovers, and a front strut bar (just for the Hell of it)
     
  14. Oh... And looking out for the updated lower steering arms that a member on here is designing... Think those may help my steering woe's
     
  15. Probably an uprated clutch as I think the OEM one isn't loving the remap.

    Just watch, It may be your DMF that is going. Thats what went on mine
     
  17. Odd, would that cause slip? I mean I plan to get the dmf changed anyway but just wondering.

    Yeah, I thought it was my clutch that was gone but turned out it was the DMF
     
  19. ordered bigger fmic and a milltek cat-back just before xmas, so that will be going on in the new year.. then the car will need a remap, so hope I can find a decent place here in Denmark, who will be able to do that (doesn't look that promising, however)..
     
  20. 630cc, Intercooler + map for 275/275.........Sabelt steering wheel trimmed to suit the R...........

    Or

    Full suspension refresh on the Lotus and new seats.

    Aint decided yet.
     
  21. Wait until the weather gets a bit better and then....
    Change brake fluid for ATE super blue
    Fit CL RC5+ fronts, EBC yellow stuff rears
    Throw on a set of NS2R's
    Put on the Supersprint race system

    Looking forward to a bit more noise

  23. Fastchips.nl are based in Holland... But can also remap remotely... As can returning in Leeds but they're a fair bit more expensive...

  25. Decat, 630cc 250 turbo.
     
  26. I've just fitted a decat and a 250 turbo. Big difference to how it was even without the remap, which should be done in the next couple of weeks with the 630s fitted. After that new clutch and R26 gearbox will be needed I think.
