Car sits really well Seb, I wish mine sat a bit lower at the back. Get that exhaust sorted before it starts to melt your bumper too
Cheers Dave, so impressed with it! Hopefully wheels might be here on Friday!! It looks worse in the pictures than in real life especially when its hot but even Mark has tried bending back in place, so not sure what i could do..... I know they list them, but Speedline have stopped producing them. I've rang both K-Tec and Speedline and it's due to them not selling enough gold sets a year, they've stopped producing them. Only silver and anthracite now. So much different Really impressed with them, wasn't expecting much change but there was. Helped that they've been properly set up though. Cheers bud! Thanks mate. Yeah the coilovers let the rear sit lower than the Cooksport springs wish is what i wanted too. But yeah I'm gunna have a look to see what I can come up with about the exhaust.
And the wheels finally arrived!! K-Tec Racing's Evo Corse wheel. Before and after: And many more! Got some HIDs (35w 6000k) for Christmas so I can finally see where I'm driving at night!! A nice whitey blue colour instead of that dull yellow! Comments welcome.
No thanks or I would or just bought them in black or anthracite? I much prefer them in gold, anyway give the car some colour.... I'm 21 too so guessing I'm allowed to keep the "chav lights"? Ta. Cheers Chris, much appreciated. Ta mate, I must say I'm so impressed with how they look! Thanks, always thought gold complements black very well.
Thanks a lot mate and I agree!! They've really made the car it's own, so pleased with them. Cheers John.
Not posted in here in a while so thought I would.... Car hasn't changed drastically really, it had its MOT in February and passed easily (Thank God!!), I've booked Oulton Park on 31st March with my brother, Dave Taylor and a few others, and recently bought a set of Federal RS-r's for my standard wheel so hopefully should quicken up the lap times! And of course, the shopping list for summer is growing! Anyway here's some pics for the mean time! - Excuse the filth!
This is by far one of my favourite MK2 RS Meganes. All it needs is the obligatory .R rear spoiler to finish the back end off. Looks great!
Fantastic project and car mate, leave the spoiler alone mate, leave that to the R. wannabbees . look so so much better without imo. Excellent work mate
Cheers lads, much appreciated. Did think about the getting a carbon fibre .R spoiler to match the bonnet but undecided at the moment so just left it standard for now......
No no your not alone james, there ok I guess on tracked R. but personally I love the clean lines of ours, without...imo only of course  Seb don't you dare think about it amigo, looked at all the awesome work you done to make this unique to you, whenever I see those rear spoilers I just see another R. rep and I move onto the next project, keep as is mate as you have a great look, lovely lines, great stance, and it so suits the car as is, just my personal thoughts tho bro, again well done, love looking at it.
Thanks Chris lad. Personally they're may favourite bit on the car and can't understand why you don't see many other cars with them fitted! Hahaha, you may have convinced me then!! I can see where you're coming from though mate. Thanks again for the kind words
So yesterday Me, my brother (Tubes) and Dave (Dtaylor) and a few other mates headed over the Pennines for a trackday at Oulton Park. And yes the weather - rain, sun and wind combined made for an eventful day! We arrived and although the sun was shining to begin with, the track was covered in water. And even when the track did decide to dry out, yet again the heavens opened. This was the story until mid afternoon where the rain went for good and the track dried completely allowing to post some very competitive lap times. I started the day on my gold wheels (Michelin Pilot Super Sports) until late morning when I felt comfortable and it was dry enough to get out on my standard wheels (Federal RSR's). And a "meme" that Dave created that sums up the day (and my face!!) perfectly! That's what happens when you have no rear wiper! All in all was a brilliant day including putting wet/dry conditions to the test but just felt good to get back out on track!
In the wet the Super Sports were quicker, given the tread pattern on them you could push knowing there was less chance aquaplaining. But by the afternoon when the track was fully dry the RSR's were by far quicker, giving you the confidence to push harder as you know they would grip. Also, you could stay out longer in each session on the RSR's as the tyres would perform for longer......
Not updated in a while as not had much to update believe it or not...... Oh I have bought a Forge recirulation valve but not had chance to fit it yet! Anyway, me and a good friend headed upto the famous Buttertubs Pass in the Yorkshire Dales on Saturday. He had never driven it and I'd only been there once a few years back when I had my 1.8 Corsa SRi, so thought it would be good to test the R26 out there and his Fiesta ST. The weather was the only downside as the sun that was at home before we set off didn't want to come out up there, so it just stayed cloudy and windy. Not that this bothered us as we drove the pass more than enough times, getting some GoPro footage, slow-mo videos, "tri-poding", and even beeping sheep from off the middle of the road!! Anyway........ SEB
Just abit of fun! - "Tri-poding" Had the car 2 years exactly today too, here's a slight comparison...... Also, thought it was only right to face-off against my brothers!! (Tubes) Working away for a month now, so will be leaving the car as it is for the time being until the summer! Comments welcome
Haha, epic photoshoot with your mates ST!, both cars look great - each time I see pics with your car the wheels just look better and better..... Remember seeing a great video of clarkson driving an escort cossie on that road, looks immense
Thanks mate! Yeah same, though when they're covered in brake dust they don't quite have the same affect, but when clean realise they make the car. I've watched that video too, believe that's where I first heard of the road! Thought I best not! Doggy-style! Ta bud, I much prefer it to black and anthracite or black and black. I've always been undecided on the spoiler front, and don't mind the little standard lip so left it for now
Busy couple of weeks for the Megane...... First up, tax is due 31st August so got the reminder slip through the post - that everyone loves, and thought I'd pay that for the whole year in a one'r, a nice £265 gone...... Next was to book it in with Renault for its yearly/12,000 mile service and to fit my Forge recirculation valve as I still hadn't got round to doing it. Car came back running sweet, with a little extra noise from the recirc valve. I then booked on at Blyton Park on the 16th August with Dave Taylor - his first track day in his M135i, but first before i had him machine polish and detail my car again! I never got it done last year as I was away through the whole of Summer with work. So I dropped the car off, the next day it was ready. Sitting clean and looking the black colour it should! Anyway enough talking, here's the pics: The calipers used to be red...... Catching Dave?! That's all for the time being. Just enjoy the car as it is, as got other priorities on my mind. Comments welcome, cheers!
