GI Quickshift Group Buy

Discussion in 'Group Buys' started by smegal, Dec 23, 2014.

  1. They will sell loads at that price, no waiting for returnees to be sent back,

  2. I'd be interested in a group buy if one goes ahead.
As Steve said I'm sure a few people will be interested in this especially if it's cheaper in a group buy lol
would it be worth seeing if they do extra discount for larger numbers, so like X price for 10 people, X price for 20 people?

  3. Looks a good bit of kit too

  4. It does, other plus side is if anyone wishes to return their car back to standard etc, this can be roved and sold on fairly easily. And I'm sure itll get snapped up quickly.

  5. Yes please! How do group buys work? Not done one before....

  6. Yes also count me in . Very interested.

  7. I'm in for this

  8. Count me in

  9. Basically, a group if people get together and negotiate a lower price for a guaranteed number, say a certain price for 10 plus people etc.

If engine dynamics can't give a good enough price, I'd look into developing my own.

  10. I'm in.

  11. would this be anymore different to the other quick shift that uses the existing linkage?... i notice theres not as much mass to this one.

  12. It's just a different way of doing it. That doesn't require returning the standard arm. Although the people from the group buy could always sell theirs to someone who can then machine them.

  13. But would it feel different... The std arm has a massive weight at one end.. This one doesn't.. Just wondering

  14. Let's be right how is that not a good price, at that price I'd of bought one by now and wouldn't waste months with people messing about on a group buy to save a tenner, if you want one get one ordered now, fit it use it resell it when you sell the car get most of your money back.
    No brainer

Phase 1's don't have the weight at the end.

  16. Think the weight would give you a slightly more positive feel to the shift. But if your shortening the throw it's going to make it feel weightier with it being closer to the pivot point.

  17. If people do buy the short shift I will take any arms that people want to sell on. I can have the short shifts made to the same design as Andrews, and if people are putting their car to bed for the winter and want one making I can sort one for you if you remove the arm and send it to me.

  18. That's what I was thinking. If 10 people did this, it'd free up 10 more arms in one go.

  19. When are we looking to do this group buy ?

  20. It'll probably end up being February-march at the earliest.

  21. Lovely no problem.

  22. No offence to anyone, but I am missing the original Andrew Jeffs quickshift. This looks really good mind you!

  23. Yes please

  24. How to please.

  25. Count me in

  26. Count me in guys!!

  27. Yeah im in people

  28. I'm going to get one now. My gearstick is not returning to the centre so needs the linkage removing anyway.

  29. Simon. Let me know how it goes ?

  30. Will do.

  31. Just ordered it so should be with me early next week.

  32. id be interested in a group buy too

  33. I'm out Thanks. Good luck on the group buy.

  34. I've been told these are a worthwhile purchase!?

  35. I do like the way these have been designed..the only thing that concerns us is the phase 2 linkage is much heavier than this, for a good reason..it needs the weight, as the phase 2 actuator has only 1 spring designed into it.The phase 1 actuator is of a different design with 2 springs in it to work with the light phase 1 linkage.
Hopefully this will not be a problem,as this looks like a quality design, that fills the gap in the market, now we have finished.

  36. I shall compare the weights when I get the old one off and see if there is a significant difference.

  37. Car stripped and ready for the delivery of my quickshifter .

  38. How did the striping go. Easy enough ?

  39. Wasn't too bad, a few stubborn screws on the battery tray but go there eventually. Once the air box, battery tray and ECU are out, access to the actuator is pretty good.
