Best Experince of the 250 YET!

Ha ha. I have had similar experiences with lesser hot hatches on the motorway. Very quick way to lose your driving licence!

 

I had a similar experience against my mates 08 530d.
He couldnt believe it when i beat him.
Hes getting a remap after christmas but im not telling him what ive done to mine in the last month so he will be surprised again.

 

A fellow at work did same but was an unmarked police car

alot of points and a big fine was the end result haha

 

The unmarked ones I've seen around here when they've had the lights on have all been dark colours so I wouldn't go by that!

 

Unmarked wouldn't be white, they use Evo/Golf Rs/Subarus etc. precisely so as to catch people out.

 

Police wouldn't be driving up his arse tbf, but all in marked cars I've seen have been black

 

You've actually seen police trying to push people into racing..... I don't believe it. Every forum seems to have people say this and I don't believe it. Sorry

 

You'd be surprised. I lodged a formal complaint about under cover officers doing exactly this.

Dead cert give away was the airial for their radios. That was a dark grey Audi.

 

nice story. Ive had my fair share but there comes a point when you realise you've made a point that you already knew. Ive also undertaken an undercover cop once but let go. You already know that the megane rs is a capable car and risking your life to prove it isn't really wise. Its even more silly that your doing it close to xmas and a catastrophic event if bad will be twice as hard on your family.

There comes a time when you just leave it all for the trackday weekend.

 

I love that the ones that are driving like tits are in audis hahaha merry Christmas all and drive safe.

By the way folks I don't race. I was doing 70 on a dual carriage way when the un marked car appeared up my rear, over took me slowed down to 50, I passed and then he did the same again. I took the Reg and description to the next station I passed.

I've given up reacting to people trying to tempt me in. I know full well my car will beat many many cars on the road. And besides... the whole country is full of straight line racers - meet me on a back road and then that's where it's at

Any one had a play with a focus RS yet ?? Really want to no how my Megane 265 running 317bhp and 365ft would go against one ??

 

Depends what mods are on the focus. A friend of a friend has one 450bhp when I saw it and it was an animal its over 500bhp now (wish my dad won the lottery too) lucky sod.

 

My 250 has 2bhp less and 3lb/ft more than yours and I've had a play against a friend in his RS (his only mod is a catback). The difference is hilarious.. 50mph in 3rd gear, I leave him absolutely no problem and keep pulling away. Off the line also isn't a problem I also make very light work of my mate in his Astra J VXR (stock)

I'm still jealous though that his car sounds SO MUCH better than mine, even with my exhaust on :/

 

The FRS weighs more so power being equal the Meg would win.

 

What is the weight difference?

 

FRS 1467kg, megane 1411kg

 

Pretty sure the Megane is 1385kg dry

 

My mate has a FRS and when I first got my 250 we went for a bit of a play. At the time both cars were standard, as far as I'm concerned there wasn't much in it at all, I could brake later and carry more speed in to the corners. In a straight line it was noticeably quicker.

With 317bhp your car would leave one for dead.

 

i thought standard focus rs is quicker in a straight line.

A modded rs no matter how small will leave a meggy. Dont underestimate the focus.

 

Stage 1 FRS probably would. Some people have got demonic FRS'

The MP350 would also leave the Meg for dead

I could never come to terms with driving around in something that looked like the FRS, the engine... yes please but the look of it is just way over the top even without any of the tat people put on them.

 

I can't help but feel drawn towards the way it looks. I hate to say it, even the Ultimate Green! However.. 4000 of them in the UK whereas I like the fact I rarely see another Meg RS.

 

I am the same must see about 3-4 frs every day I would hate that if I had one

 

Recently had a go against a focus rs and was shocked.
Thought i was going to get battered but came out a 2 lane roundabout in front and left it behind down the dual carriageway
